    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Neil Gubitz - An unpleasant perspective

This isn't about one incident, it is about a pattern of behavior. I've been on this board through at least three incarnations, and this is really nothing new or unexpected out of Neil.

The message was sent to WebSlave, and the rest of the people who were insulted behind their backs made aware by posting it in the thread it referenced. Certainly the rest of the board as well.

While the "bashing" in this thread has gotten a little ugly, there's a bit of a difference between people who have either been too afraid to vent at Neil in the past, or who had brought up issues only to be drowned out in a frenzy whipped up by Neil, and Neil's standard operating procedure of resorting to verbal abuse as a first recourse.

Personally, I find it entirely appropriate that Neil is on the recieving end of the very same sort of feeding frenzy which he's instigated. Even more so, since his own words instigated this one as well.

I don't feel that this one letter should influence anyone's opinion of Neil. Go through all of his posts on the previous and the current versions of the BOI. You'll see plenty of the same attitudes expressed over and over again. Make up your own mind. I've made up mine.

If anyone thinks it's inappropriate that I posted Neil's remarks about the respondants in that thread, TO that thread, then I suppose you have much more patience for a hothead calling you a "mental midget" or "a--hole" behind your back than I do.

If you want to say something about a person, you should do it to their face.

The fact of the matter is that Neil did not support Terry Lilley publically at all. I wonder if that's because he was trying to protect whatever reputation he thinks he has through this board, knowing what the consensus opinion of Mr. Lilley is? I wonder how good a friend you are when you can't defend your friend publically? I think a conniving one at the least. Neil has been manipulating this board for some time now, and this was a perfect opportunity to highlight that. Note that I say highlight, because the behaviors and attitudes have been there all along.
 
Glenn, you just don't seem to get it
Did Neil do that, by which I mean did he display that amount of grit? Did he display his thoughts publicly and leave them open to the criticism of others as we are doing here in this open forum? Really ask yourself, and then really think about the answer. The implications of the answer you give to yourself should be very self revealing if you refelct on them a bit.

Its grit now to bash someone on BOI when they have been asked not to use it? That's not what my parents taught me to call it....and as far as the rest of that quote.... I have my answer, he followed the rules of this board in NOT saying such things on it, unlike some others on this thread.

In all fairness to Rich, he has been out of town at a show and with that and preparing for it, may not have seen it ...... I can not imagine him being personally upset by a private email to another to the point of allowing this. The fact it was posted to begin with here still surprises me.

It does not take a Nostradamus jr for some to understand that others may find this thread in poor taste. I do find it humorous that it seems to stress out others so much.... I wonder why?
 
I just looked at the Terry Lilley thread, I did not see Neil respond to it at all. He wrote Terry a PM in private. Doesn't privacy account for anything anymore?
Someone gets a PM by mistake, and what? Says oh wow this should stir things up?
I am not talking about what Neil has said and done of the past. I know he can be rude and stubborn and in the wrong. But this thread is uncalled for. Yes, he should not be a moderator for promoting what he did in that PM, but to be bashed? No.
This is not where this thread should be. What he says in a PM has nothing to do with the animals he sells. Dave and the turtle guy(sorry forgot your name, its late) had a right to post about Neil, he was remiss in his duties as a seller.
Neil was remiss in his job as a moderator with that PM, but that does not belong here.
I stuck up for Dave because it was the right thing to do, even though Neil sold me a snake in good shape, good packaging and friendly. It did not stop me from saying he was wrong with his handling of Dave.
I am not going to be stopped saying this thread is wrong either.
I thought a tattle tail was outgrown in grade school.
People who bash and call Neil names in this thread in my book are not any better than how he has acted.
Forget any good he has done. The word vulture comes to mind.

Tattle tail? If that's the best you can do, give up. Neil screwed up. Neil sent his "private" message right into my inbox, where it had no business being. Up until now, I've never said anything related to Neil's juvenile behavior on this board. Not one word. I've questioned his business practices, and that's it. However, sending the garbage into my private mail exceeds my tolerance level.

You don't have to like it, but you should consider refraining from the behavior that you're condemning; it makes your argument weaker.

I find it amusing that my response to being insulted behind my back is so contemptable, when Neil's crude vulgarity is accepted because "he's only human." Last time I checked, I was het for human, and most humans don't like being insulted behind their backs.

I'm going to sign off on this thread now. The Neil glee club can take over, as they seem to have infinite patience which I do not.

I respect your opinion on this whole thing, and appreciate your well thought out articulate posts. Reading them has certainly helped me to understand where some of you are coming from much more then angry rantings ever could.

My opinion though is that this whole matter may have been better served (and much more tasteful) if it had been kept off of the public forum and confined to PM's which is where the whole thing started. I would have seen absolutely nothing wrong with you forwarding a PM to anyone who you felt should read that post...I'm assuming you would direct it to people whom you felt were being attacked by it.

Also I believe it should have been sent privately to webslave (I believe it was) and if he at his discrection felt that Neil should be asked to leave the site, he might have done that privately as well. I've received some messages that have attempted to explain to me why Webslave felt the way he did about asking Neil to leave and I can better understand now and perhaps agree with his decision. But by publically posting that request I don't see much difference between being asked to leave and being banned. I don't see how anyone could comfortably post after being publically asked to leave.

Just my thoughts.

If you feel it is okay for him to stab you in the back and smile in front of your face while doing it...Then so be it. If you feel it is okay for him to be buddy buddy in front of you and call you names behind your back....Then so be it.

If you feel you have the courage to post your anti Neil remarks over and over specially since Neil will not respond to them.....so be it. If you feel like after 15 pages we should still continue to bash and bash so be it.

Can we all agree to disagree? Frankly I am tired of this thread. I want to move on in life and not think about this thread. Yeah I know I do not have to read it. I have not read this since the first few pages.....Why am I tired of seeing this? Because it is at the top of the page and I have no choice but to see it.

Rozann, Jude, and Cheri have done more to keep this thread going than anyone has for a number of pages. How great that you are entitled to your same opinions over and over, but the rest of the people who have responded are vultures? Why dont you explain your position one more time, so that we can add a few more pages. I only responded once with my, what I believe to be logical, opinion. How many times have each of you responded? Your opinion must be much more valid then mine. Jude, you say that your not going to pour salt in open wounds... Why do I some how remember a post where all you had to add was (what I think was salt) "How about the offices of". Im sure that brought some quite valuable information to that thread. You probably werent jumping on any bandwagon. And Cheri, when you quote people, you should use the whole sentence. Not bits and peices that interest you. And since I am so awful and my post was so bad that I need warning points, then I believe you do too. A "jackass" is also known as a donkey. Your on here calling people vultures. So its o.k. for you to call people on the board filthy, carcass scavenging birds of prey? Also I dont believe I have called anyone a tattle-tale since I left 3rd grade.
A PM would remain private if it was sent to the right person. If I send you a PM, and you do not know me personally, there is no reason why I should expect you to keep it private. Once Neil hit the wrong key and sent it to the wrong person, he made it public. Brian had no reason to have to read the deceipt and bad attitude that Neil displayed toward the BOI, and he also had no reason to keep it private. There is no privacy when you send someone you dont know a message. Do you get it??? If you cannot control your fingers enough to send (2 faced in my opinion)
messages to a particular person, maybe then you shouldnt have a behind the scenes personality and then a public one.
Neil has been very vocal and very aggressive on this board. I would bet that some of the rules in place are somehow related to Neil. He is a character that has had very public displays of immature attitude, lies, and probably the last person in the world you would want to confront about returning an animal. We have seen time and time again where Neil has gone off on his customers if they had issues and took pages for him to see the right thing. How many times has he shown his true colors, only to be forgotten and he comes right back. People that have been reading the BOI for any length of time, see his problems on here time and time again. He was even already BANNED! I believe this thread will probably die out, but the more you feel that your opinions are more important than anyone elses, people will keep coming back and responding. I've responded twice. Jude and Cheri have each responded 5 times. Rozann has responded 16 times. Way to let the thread die girls.

since the ladies want to keep it going i will assist them..i hope my spelling is better so he dosen't bash me some more only because i can't type very well even though i have great customer service after the sell.he is a proven connman..all he was looking for was that mighty $$$ regardless of who he screwed.so you ladies may have gotten a good deal from him.great were gladd to hear it but the ones he has screwed have the right to post here.so a quick question how many times must he screw others over before it is realized that he is a badd person ???.he's been banned and he has been accused of ripping people off to no end.but then he starts yelling and puts it off on the buyer as trying to get over on him.there are many people who have been on this site and ran outa town for far fewer infractions.i don't remember who it was that received the 2 dead ball pythons but this was this kids 1st bad post.. should we all look the other way and say oh well ?? i don' t think so.as far as brian bringing this to everyones attention..if he had not and neil screwed a few more over which we know he would have brian would have been road out of town for not letting this out.he would have surley been labeled a bad guy for not as you want to call it tatteling..as far as his little letter that he can't even send to the right person,i was one of them on it.i do take offence to it.i was on it not because i have done anything wrong to a customer but because i don't spell well.yep i'm one of them idiots.but i don't have unhappy customers lining up and that should be the importiant part.as far as neil bashing...go back and read every post neil has ever left.you will see who is the #1 name caller,#1 basher,#1 problem instigator,and just #1 problem period on the boi.as far as this thread beign found in bad taste..yep it does seem like 3 or 4 do find it that way but the man who owns this site and maby hundreds of others do not..so keep up the good work ladies.as long as it continues to stay on the front page everyone who looks will see that he is a conman,thief,crook,and liar that will screw you over in some way.if not on the price then on the quality of the animal.heck maby you will get lucky and atleast get the right sex(MABY)it might be 3/4 the size you orderd and paid for and sick but it's the right sex.ladies i more than welcome your support for him and wish you luck in your future deals with him.if you do get screwed don't come here whining, you were warned. but we should also have the same respect from you to post our negative feelings about him and not be called children for doing so.i do not see how we are so bad for what you call bashing him when we are doing nothing more than he has done in the past.so i say lets keep up the good work and keep it on the front page for all to see.

Just for the record, I don't believe anyone from the "Dirty Dozen" has posted in several days/pages on this thread (until now, that is). The initial reality of Neil's attitudes was revealing, but it has been fully revealed now. Really people, Neil is not worth all of this attention.

Putting aside the whining Neil gives sometimes at having to make good,,,, putting that aside........ When has he never eventually made good?
Remember, putting aside his antics or jokes or sometimes rudeness. Is there a time when he did not make good?
This is important. If he is to be called what you said about ripping people off and screwing them over, I think it should be validated.
 
pangea exotics or whatever he decides to call himself today was not taken care of..he was rode outa town by neil and others.neil shipped a large snake that had just been fed and made the receiver look bad for it.i have seen no word as to if the sick turtle has been taken care of yet but i will check.i will go back and find more of the info you want.this will not be a problem.but that one pops into my head without alot of thinking.

Just for the record, the reason I started this thread was because the original message posted by BrianB exposing the misdirected PM was posted in a thread started by Terry Lilley and not likely to be found by anyone interested in reading about Neil Gubitz. I felt that this PM was so revealing of Mr. Gubitz's attitude that it deserved it's own thread.

Personally, I have known of Neil's attitude for a long time, but it was not really my place to call attention to this fact publicly. I have had to request Neil to tone down his messages several times, and have had discussions with him privately via emails. Matter of fact, in the email I sent to him just days before the misdirected PM he sent, I explicitly warned him about his attitude.

However, once the misdirected PM was posted publicly by BrianB, I could not ignore it nor let such an attack on the general membership of this site go unchallenged. To do so might have implied that I agreed and condoned Neil's opinions. Although that PM was intended to be private, my belief is that it was the part of the iceberg that is normally under the water line that many people have seen the tip of exposed in many messages here via Neil.

Some have expressed distaste at this being exposed publicly, but in my opinion so many of the issues that have been exposed on the BOI have revolved around a person's attitude and manner of dealing with people in general, that I could see no reason why this should be treated any differently. This incident provides more information for a prospective customer to have at their disposal to make a determination about Neil Gubitz, and as such it is just as pertinent and valid as anything that has been written about anyone at all on this board.

And to some of the people whom are apparently attacking my decision to do this, I only ask you to please look deeply into your own motives and tell me that your concern is only with the integrity of the BOI.

As far as Neil being a moderator on this site, the ONLY forum that he had moderator rights to was the JUST FOR LAUGHS forum. That is it. I felt that if there were to be any moderator for that particular forum, Neil was the guy for the job. Neil has NEVER had general moderator rights or responsibilities on this site.
 
Why is it if some of us respond now we suddenly start acquiring labels too? To the point of one user actually going through and counting up responses? Its a scored game now?

But those that said they were finished come back and post the same thing again.... yet we're a glee club or ladies or girls and not intended in a courteous manner?

The last few days have been asking why none of the rules that were established to stop some of the things on here are now okay on this thread? If that is not selective imposing, please explain it to me so I can understand it.

I was not attacking your decision, I said it surprised me, and shocked me... it still does, because it was so important to you and you spent so much time making up that rule/point system to stop things like this... I also said I would probably have felt the same way, but it still surprises me it was posted here and the posts that followed allowed with no enforcement of those rules.

As far as the last of that quote, yes Rich, if I have to defend my ethic, I have a clear conscious of my concern for the integrity of BOI, as its a site I like and probably spend more time on than any other. I also have three sites that advice people to use it, highly recommend it and link to it. Outside of the many people I know and emailed telling about this site (a lot that are registered and active here now) or posted on Yahoo list referring them here when they asked about dealers/breeders, I am pretty sure no one else here is even aware of those sites, unless they have found them on their own. I have never even given out the URLS of other sites I am involved in either in post or Emails except to you.... so please, do not even go there.

If you have doubts about me, maybe you should see the intro's I wrote on those site to this one. BOI does not have many stronger supporter. I am concerned about the integrity of it, that's my reputation sitting on those intros and recommended links to it.

Why is it the rules seem selective and not enforced on this thread, if I am missing something, I really would appreciate you clarifying it. I thought it might be because you had not seen them with being at the show or in a moment of anger from that email allowed it and it grew beyond what you thought it would. I know you don't owe anyone an answer on your own site, but I am not the only one asking this and I AM concerned that it was a topic of much discussion this weekend at the show. I had not even seen this thread until Friday night when I was told about it at the show.

He was gone all weekend and so there was not much deleting going.

I could be wrong....but I think there are some responses that are already gone from this thread.

I remember replies where people did nothing but call him names.....maybe I missed it...but I can no longer find some of those replies. There are still a couple here and their....but the really out of line ones seem to be gone.
 
I do not have to look within myself to know that Fauna is one of my favorite places to be. I believe I e-mailed you and know I e-mailed Ritchie when I could not get on yesterday. Which, by the way, Ritchie did help me out. No hidden agenda here. In fact I am a little saddened that you would think so.
As in any thread I have written in, I state what I think and/or feel. If I am wrong about something I know how to apoligize and do.
There are things that I think could be changed or enhanced but when testing those waters I find it low, so I go on about my business and let it go.
I liked the fact that you were really trying to clean this place up, putting up a point system and all, it showed you were listening and cared about what people said, that alone, speaks for itself and this site.
It has been made very clear to me that you own this site and are the boss, I accept that. But that doesn't mean I have to agree with all your decisions. I too, was surprised to say the least to see this thread go on. I thought to myself that you are probably at the show and will see it when you come back.
It is apparent to me that you are fine with it the way it is, whether letting your personal feelings get in the way and not honoring the point system is your choice and I must accept that too. Disappointed yes. Will I still continue to come on here, heck yes, its a great site.
These are just my thoughts, and as I have said many times, I am just one person, but I do count too.
Anyway, thought I would acknowledge what you wrote.
 
I wonder if Neil is laughing like a maniac right now at all these people going back and forth over him. I think its great people post their opinion, but over and over again........come on. With all this arguing and quoting and going back to this post or that post. With this post I am just making the whole meaning of the thread that much more pointless....sorry, LOL. chris allen

This is a prime example of what I am asking, Ritchie posted earlier that he thinks some of the name calling has been taken off, it was my impression of what I have read that nothing gets taken off the BOI?
I thought that points would be given?
