• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello everyone :D,

I am new to Fauna Classifieds and have an exciting, bi-monthly, free, interactive magazine to share with you.

It is called AMPHITILIA and is all about reptile and amphibians. There is a mix of husbandry and research topics to read, watch, scroll and click your way through.

The time is now to advance our language within our herpetile community and my 6 years of animal and plant care experience has sparked this idea.

Hope you can all find something useful from them as they are aimed at beginners to advanced herpetile carers in all fields.

Thank you in advance 🙌,

Scott Lockhart

So you come here just to promote your own site for free? How gracious of you! Just does my heart good to see how other people just want to step on my head to get themselves ahead.

So, someone comes here and sees Scott's notice of his fine magazine. That someone clicks and reads Scott's fine magazine, and maybe gets wind of a species they didn't know about or didn't know how to care for. Then, they come back to Fauna and either peruse the ads or post their own wanted ad.

That's more beneficial to you, Rich, even than me posting an ad for a snake -- since that could be and often is once and done deal. But with the online magazine, that stands to increase the market, not decrease it. An online magazine isn't competition to a classified site any more than Road and Track is a competitor to the Craigslist car ad section.

The 'everyone is cheating me/us/US' schtick is cute and all, but at some point basic reasoning has to intervene and make obvious even to the chronic whiner that maybe it is time to graduate from kindergarden and come up with some new coping mechanism. Just kicking every puppy that shows up in your yard might feel good for a minute but isn't anything more than that.

It sure as hell is bad for the hobby, though, and that's about the only reason I care.
