    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am trying to make a banner and need some feedback on what yall think of this.

Very Nice.

My only suggestion is that you brighten up the background a little bit... it seems really dark. Other than that I like the idea of using the back end... kind of a mystery about what the full gecko looks like, and makes you want more. Nice job.
 
i like it glen, but i also think brightening it would make it a bit more appealing

i hope you dont mine, but i went ahead and put it into photoshop to brighten it up, just an example

Dan yes that looks much better! Still fuzzie though. My first try I might work on it some more, but thank you so much for the input!
 
I like the brighter one too... As for font size... I could go either way. Bigger would be OK, but it's not bad.

The only other thing I could see if you are going to put this banner in rotation on another site, it's not 'normal' size (468px x 60px).
 
I like the lighter one, and I think the font size is good too.

But I was bored and had to play with it.
What if you took out the background?

I like the first one better because it just looks a lot cooler having the leo's shadow in the picture. Plus, black backgrounds are a bit overdone in my opinion. Maybe you could try doing your original banner with off-white text instead of black?
 
Well how about Red, Yellow, Brown or Green? All with a shadow of course...

Hey, what do you mean black is overdone? I actually was thinking the black with the orangish glow looked regal.

Paul how did you change the background? I have another picture I have been working with but it would need the background changed and I don't know how.
 
I like the white backround. The gecko seems to give off an almost heavenly glow hinting to the visitors to the site that the animals are well taken care of, happy, and nice.

Glenn, I hope you don't mind me messing with your banner. I actually used the pic off of your Heads & Tails thread. That way I was able to re-do the text. Anyway, I open it in Macromedia Fireworks, and then zoom way in, erase an outline around the gecko and then change the canvas color. You can re-add a shadow to them like I did. All four of the colored ones took me 15 minutes max.

Well, I like black backgrounds, but I think G&M sounds similar to A&M, so it wouldn't really help to have a similar-looking banner. Just my opinion though.

You know I really didn't think of that until after the fact. I just name us after us Glenn & Mendie LOL! I really think A&M as some great geckos but I don't think it would be right to have even a similar-looking banner on top of already sounding like them may not be appeciated by Alberto. Great point though.
 
Thank you guys & gals for all of the feed back I am trying to get some different pics and trying to come up with something that we really like. I was thinking I was going in the right direction with this one till Mendie got home and took one look at it and said " Its a leo butt". LOL So I guess not what she was thinking. Will get back to you with some new ones when I get a chance to play with it some more.
