San Diego Bearded Dragon
Hello everyone,
My name is JD and I have an 11 year old daughter named Alyssa and we are starting our own little business out of our home called San Diego Dragons and I have been playing around getting my website up but it is still a work in progress. If anyone wants to check it out and maybe give me some pointers, I will be happy to take suggestions. SanDiegoDragons.com.
I am a network engineer here in SD for Qualcomm for 10 years now and in the IT field for about 20 years but one thing I never played around with were websites......
Anyway, it all start back in the beginning of October when my daughter wanted to get another BD. I had a couple about 10 years ago and they bred and I had I think 3 clutches of babies which were just normal inland beardies and I just ended up giving most away and sold some to a local reptile store we used to have here in town. But then just got out of the breeding and sold my pair and just kept one for my daughter which died a couple years ago.
So anyway, on Oct. 6th I purchased 2 6 month old beardies. One is a beautiful Kandy's line female that is supposed to be one of the babies from "Ginger", who is on the cover of that one book. Bred by Rick Millspaugh here in SD.
Then I purchased on Nov. 11th, an awesome looking 2 month old green and white translucent from Steven at Bloodbank Dragons.
Then... this week I purchased from Cristina at Hancock's Dragon's a 10 month old female Blood that already is laying eggs but has never been with a male yet so she is almost ready I guess. Along with her I also got 5-1/2 month old Red Hypo Het for Trans female that Cristina got from Bloodbanks.
So I figured the soonest I can start breeding any of these would be "Rosie" the Blood I just got so I had to get her a mate and went out today and got awesome male bright red Blood from Kevin at Dragon's Den that's about 8 months old. I might want to breed him with my Kandy's female later also. Should get some gorgeous babies with both of them.
So hopefully I am done buying for a while and see how things pan out with these 6.
I have been reading this site now for a few months and have met or talked on the phone to some of the breeders here.
I met Heidi from Caliente and went to her place and saw her awesome setup she has out there. She is a great person and breeder and really knows her stuff. I got some good ideas from here and I have been picking up some enclosures from her.
I have spoken with Cristina at Hancocks, Steven at Bloodbank's, met Kevin today from Dragon's Den, and have been emailing with Rick Millspaugh out here in SD. I also pruchased a White Hypo ( Marketed leucistic) het translucent from Josh at Phantom Dragons that Heidi suggested to be a good match to breed later with my Green and White trans.
Anyway, thanks to everyone I have met so far and looking forward to meeting others out here and hopefully get my little father/daughter business going. It should be fun. My daughter is an animal freak. I swear she is going to be a Vet one day.....
Talk to you all later...
