2:can these things climb glass and get into my other tanks and enclosures
3:he has a small impaction at the anus im not sure of the cause of this (weather or not its the mites) but can they cause this i know they like the eyes and pits
guess ive learnt my lesson about getting animals from lesson

Go to Wal-mart and buy a can of lice bedding spray($5),this will be what you put into the cage.
Buy a bottle of reptile relief for the snake.Pet smart.($8?)
Get a plasctic tub, rubber gloves(put on) and spay your hands with the reptile relief, then wipe the snake and place into the new tub.I think its better to spray hands then wipe, over spraying the boa.
Not sure what your using for a quarantine tank, but if its a fish tank take plastic Saran wrap and tape and seal most of the tank off except the last few inches, this is where you will place your hand inside the tank and spray for several seconds. Then seal the part of the tank you left open.Let that sit for awhile. Then take off the saran wrap and let it air out. Then wipe tank with warm water and spray with the reptile relief thoroughly and let site.Wipe clean later and add boa.
Yes,mites can climb and will walk in a straight line to the next tank or cage.Or from you to the next spot.

We did this to my buddies boa back 2 years ago and it worked great.I found the how to on here and it was about the difference between pro vent a mite and the Wal mart lice bedding spray, which are the same ingredients.
I now have the boa he had to treat and it never brought mites into my home. She is very healthy it appears.
Sorry i cannot help with the impaction.
Has she /he defecated since you had it?Can it be cleaned up.
BAD PICS! Try to show the people on here a clear pic,ok?There are some very knowledgeable people on here and will try to help.Especially the ones that love the snakes.
Good luck
If you have roaches you use as feeders, keep the lice bedding spay away!
Good luck

Not true about only 1 way to kill mites. There are several that work fine.! I dont lie man.The method works well and many have used it.
The lice bedding spay is the same thing as the $18 can of pam! Cheaper too.

heres another ad from on here!
a0.5% Permethrin is what you are looking for
Go to Walmart and in the camping section is a product called Repel Permanone (orange can, blue cap). The key ingredient in Provent A Mite is 0.5% permethrin and 99.5% inert ingredients. It is exactly the same stuff as Repel, prolly has the same patent number. Use it exactly as you would use Prevent A Mite.

Heres 1 too-----Forget WalMart and run out to PetCo/PetSmart or your local reptile pet store and get some Reptile Relief. It works very well!!! Just follow the directions on the bottle. It kills mites almost on contact by dehydrating them.

These are on here under how to kill mites.
Whatever you do,good luck. There are alot of opinions on killing mites and what to use.

PAM is the ONLY reptile approved mite spray. I don't use anything else but PAM and most on this site will agree. Using something other than PAM on a reptile is like giving your dog a bath in cat flea shampoo, I wouldn't do it.

They do not have the same ingredients. Read the ingredient label on both, they only share 1 ingredient if I remember correct.

Will take a look.
I know from what i was told on here, use the lice bedding spray because it was the same.
We did,it worked well and no side effects i can see 2 years later.

PAM is well documented to be
LESS then effective at mite eradication.
Lice treatment products are well proven
to be superior at both knock down and residual
kill duration.

Don't be fooled by "approved",approved
in no way supports effectiveness.
PAM bullied its way on to the market
with Lawyer double talk and junk science.

Those in the hobby during the Black Flag
era will know of the persicution forced their way.

The whole thing reads much like the current Python ban
coming our way.

I was told by many to use Equate bedding spray for lice.
And most were from on here.
Whatever you do,use caution and sparingly.

I have great success with Natural Chemistry reptile relief. It is an all natural alternative that I have had great success with.

Heres a quote by you on Reptile relief.

Read that post down a little further. I have used reptile relief, it DID help with the mites on the snake, but did nothing for the mites in the cage. I kinda compared it to olive oil. The old trick of lathering down the snake with oil kills mites and keeps them off, doesn't mean it is safe to use.

Regardless of what I have used or not, I will use nothing but PAM. I am not going to get in any kind of argument over this, but I just don't trust anything else.

I am sorry Jeremy,i'm not trying to argue either.I was not looking to make you mad either.
I just was searching through the search as you told the new guy and seen this that ad you posted.
It's obvious that there are people who like certain products over others, and yours is Pam.
But its NOT the only way to get rid of the mites as you stated earlier.Or even the safest. You could have just said that is was your way.

I'm sick, tired and at work. Sorry I came off as being mad, I really am not. Everyone does and always will have there own opinion, that would be why we live in such a great country.

as far as the impaction, I can't tell from the photos. Is that stuck fecal matter? is that protruding tissue?

PAM is well documented to be
LESS then effective at mite eradication.

source?

I've used Provent-a-Mite with great success over the years, one treatment and that was all it took. I had mite outbreak in my collection in '99 and '01 when I did rescue and didn't understand quanantine. Also had snakes come into quarantine in '10 and '11 with mites, pre-srayed the enclosure and the mites were killed off. I don't bother soaking or oiling the snakes, just use as directed and the mites are done for. It is the only thing I will use.

I also heard good things about Black Knight spray but never used it so I can't speak for it.

I know people have gone the cheap route and used Equate and Nix with success but I do want to quote someone I trust and point this out:

JasonHood said:
The chemical is Permethrin at 0.50% and it is very important to get that exact chemical in your spray and I would go with that same percentage as that is what is in "PAM". The owner of Provent A Mite and i got into a "conversation" a few years back on KS.com and one of his points was that only 0.5% of the chemicals in the spray are known, the rest of the chemicals are unknown on the label and in fact "secret" and his insinuation was that the inert ingredients may cause harm from other chemicals combinations in the off brands. I have no idea and have used both PAM and Equate over the years and I have not seen any problems with either. Just fair to give you all the info. Also, I mention using the exact chemical because there is a very similarly named chemical that will kill your snake that is in some of these sprays.

So who knows what those 'other ingredients' might be in the nix and equate and their possible future impact on the reptile? I'd rather stick with what has been tested on reptiles and has, in my experience, proven 100% effective.
