In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well a few weeks ago a guy in my local area was selling a very large cage for $50 bones. It needed a lot of work but considering these thing retail for over $300 bones in my area and he only wanted 50 for it I could not pass it up. So hear it is when I first brought it home.

I striped out everthing includeing all the wiring, lights, and the glass on the sides and door. I started out be sanding every inch of the cage down to get it nice and smooth and to get rid of scuff marks, dirt, splinters, and anything that my cham could get cut or hurt on. Once that was done I started to seal every inch of wood, a week later and four coats of sealent hear it is.

I still need to put in screening on the side frames and door and redo the lighting and wiring. Once thats done i'll set up a heat lamp and start building my chams habitat. I also found a matching base and picked that up, I just finished sanding and sealing that earyler today.

Very pretty wood you cleaned up there, nicely done. I'll post pics next week of my killer set up. It cost me about 300 bones to make but is 6 ft tall 6ft long and 3 ft deep. There is a non see through divider in the middle to make for 2 enclosures.

I got lots of work done tonight, I just kinda slapped everything together for a few pics. Tomorrow I’ll pull off the side windows and the door and start working on the drain system for the bottom. Wow I’m kinda surprised that you can barely see the screen I put in.

Wow sorry for the big pics, I think I had my digi cam on the wrong setting. :>poke2<:

I think I'll call it The Super Terrarium! :dgrin: The whole thing stands 6 feet and 7 inches on the dot.

There are different people on different fourms and at the time I was looking for different ideas. After that I just started updating all of them as time went on.

First cut for the draining system. It does not need to be clean per say, you wont be able to see any of it later on.

And the second cut, once again it does not need to be clean. It’ll be too hard to see when it’s finished.

Now I just need to finish water proofing all of the wiring and electric boxes. Still need to pick up a bunch of pond liner for water direction. Busy busy weekend with the holiday and all so I did not get very much done.

You guys ever have one of those weeks were nothing goes the way it’s supposed to? Well that’s what this week has been like for me and it’s only Tuesday. Found out that the pond liner that I wanted to use was way more money than I wanted to spend so I went back to the drawing board and ended up finding some industrial plastic liner that was almost the same thickness but a lot cheaper. Fixed that to the base and put in a 5 gallon bucket and now I can count the base as finished.

I also finished the draining system for the bottom of the cage. All wiring and electric boxes have also been water proofed.

Not really what I had in mind but I ended up saving a lot of cash and it should work just fine.

Not that far from being done now. It still needs one more coat of Helmsman spar polyurethane. Some aluminum backing for the UV lights. Then it will get moved up into my office so I can start building Gizmo’s new home. Man I can’t Waite.
