    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

If this was a theoretical discussion on the topic of finding homes for imperfect/B grade reptiles, it would be fine; but the original post comes across as nothing more than someone trolling for free/cheap animals - even if it is under the guise of good intentions.
I'm reluctant to close the thread, because some legitimate discussion has followed...but I will do so if the focus shifts again (the discussion forums are not the place to advertise).

Now, to take off my moderator hat & join the party:
Personally, I don't see much sense in "saving" animals if you aren't going to commit to them...and (nothing personal, but) an 18+/- yr old is rarely in a position to make long term decisions. You want to take on one or two as pets - that's great....just don't overextend yourself. It's all well and good to say that you would be willing to toss them in the freezer if you became unwilling/unable to care for them; but it would be a poor decision that could result in considerable negativity, and even animal cruelty charges if you were to follow through. Better to let them be culled at the outset, than killed later. While the outcome is the same, the latter is less "socially acceptable" - perhaps because the animals are given a shot at life, then had it snatched away because somebody changed his/her mind.
