    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So how do we highlight the new ads? Is doesn't appear there will be a way to implement that.

The good thing will be to get rid of the old ads... heck, I was going to volunteer to help delete those anyway. It will free up lots of space and avoid having to embarrass folks by telling them that the ad is 1-1/2 old.... :p
I was always telling folks to delete their ads when they sold the item... makes sense to me - and that is what we did. :idea:

I really liked the 'highlight' feature - and the 'bump' option that went with it.
Are we going to have anything like that with the new ads?
Oh - and I have to find a generic picture to post with the new ads that don't have a picture to go with them - I hate that blank picture frame on the new ads. :unhappy:

It appears that you can only add the optional enhancements (highlighting, bold, and italics) to a new ad while you are creating it. They cannot be added in after the fact. I guess this is good and bad, though. In the old system you could ad highlighting in at any time for an old ad, but it only lasted 1 month. With the new system, you have to make the decision when you are creating the ad, but the ad (highlighting and all) will be there for up to 90 days for the same price.

Sorry, but no, there is no "bumping" capability in the new system, which is just as well. Probably best to dump the old ads anyway in favor of new ones when the time comes.

Yeah, pictures DO sell the products.

So what is wrong with time-based ads? 90 days isn't enough time? I can change that to whatever people would prefer.

You know, you don't HAVE to use that auction feature. It's strictly optional.

But beyond that, what else don't you like about it?
 
I guess it doesn't matter that much, I just hate when forums that are established start going through changes in the format when changes are not needed. Come to think about it, I haven't been too fond of this old forum either, after the "Forum Jump Panel" or whatever "disappeared" I haven't been participating much here. My computer is too slow to go back and forth from a forum to a thread, and back to the index to another forum. It's too time consuming.

It just seems to me like the old system was less complicated than the new system. Condition of the animals, I mean, come on, you know that no matter what people are going to put EXCELLENT so that people will want to buy that animal. Like I said before, I just don't like change, therefore my opinion does not count.

Also, I've been meaning to mention this. That whole reputation thing, is GARBAGE! A friend of mine posted a message in the BOI about a dealer who ripped him off out of $150. Well, people ended up giving my friend BAD REP, because his post was too long, WTF is that!? People get power and go crazy with it.

I haven't had a green box since the day this repuation crap started. Made 1 comment that I used to ship snakes through USPS and people bad repped me like there was no tomorrow.

Everyone's opinion counts. The thing that seems to get people worked up is when their minority opinion is not the one that I follow. But be that as it may, this thread is not intended to be a general complaing session about everything on this site. There is a FaunaClassifieds Feedback forum that you are welcome to use to discuss such matters that differ from what I started this thread about.

How about if ALL of you just knock it off, OK? Some of you can't afford any more warning points............

I asked for opinions, so I want to even get the negative ones. It doesn't help things if people jump all over someone because they have an unpopular opinion. Now if the point gets belabored to the point of excess, then yeah maybe a response in like kind is warranted. But I don't want people to fear expressing their opinions if they are going to get jumped all over by some of the members here.
