In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello All!
new to the ball python scene, here.
Ive held off for the longest time but seeing so many awesome morphs finally hooked me in.

In the past three months, I've been able to collect several simple morphs to get started. Once I am more comfortable, I plan to expand onto more "hard to reach" morphs.

I want to shout out to Tom Barnhart, Ozzyboids, and Mobtown Morphs, all local to me, for helping me get started well and on the right track. Especially Tom and Osman. Both outstanding and very honest person to work with. Goes out of there way to help in anyway possible. Extra kudos to Tom B.

Line up:

1.0 Superfire (Ozzyboid)
1.0 het red axanthic yellowbelly ( " ")
1.0 Mojave (most intense black and white and slight tan...NO Yellow!!)
1.0 Lesser (Mobtown, NO yellow! Intense white blushing, very minimal patterns)

0.1 YellowBelly (Barnhart)
0.1 Spinner (")
0.1 Bumblebee (")
0.1 Pastel (interesting with very intense orange, Barnhart)
0.1 Platinum lesser (Mobtown, same as male on pattern and blushing)
0.1 het pied (Barnhart)
0.1 Pastel (Mobtown, very nice yellow and contrasting black)
0.1 Pastel (First ball python purchased and a learning lesson...pictured animal was not delivered, I let it go because this bp is a ferocious f/t eater, a little dull when first purchase but it is brightening up after each shed, which I dont understand)
0.1 Pastel (local purchase, very clean adult I plan to breed next season with the superfire)

Will get in three weeks:
0.1 cinnamon yellowbelly
1.0 Specter

Summer:
1.0 Pied
1.0 double gene with a barnhart black pastel in it.

I think I should be good for awhile. Especially, its drained my fun money fund for the next couple years...hehe.

Would you have any suggestions to this list that I must have?
How about the combos I should think about?

Thanks everyone!

Aint that the truth :yesnod:

As for what combos to get or genes to ad. Well, thats up to you, welcome to the addicition!

I dont have an addictive personality, but for some reason, this ball python stuff is bad.

Probably because i didnt have space for the past 10+ years.
Now that i have at least the small space for a snake rack, years of patience finally let loose!

Welcome to the ride of your life! With so many options out there the sky is the limit (till you run out of walls to knock down to make your snake room bigger lol) . You def. came to the right place if you ever need help. Just remember that the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Welcome to the addiction! You have a great collection. Now all you have to do is breed them and hold some back when you hit on the crazy combos. That's where it's at in my openion.

I will have many questions for sure!

1. Ive read few discussions on feeding. Based on your experience, does it really make a difference if a ball python is fed smaller feeders few time a week versus one large fedder per week?

2. I read that 1000g female is still light for breeding. At what weight do you breed your females?

3. The rack is in my basement storage room which is a constant 65-67 right now...Im having trouble with keeping the temp steady on the thermostat at constant temp. I have a dimming model, but would it help if i bought another one with a pulse feature? Does it send energy at a higher rate to the flexwatt?

4. Because of the fluctuations, the digital thermometers i keep in various levels of the rack indicate that (max and min) there are 5 degrees of change. So typically, min=82 and max=87, hot spot records at 90-93. Are these temps acceptable? Does the up and down change in temperature throughout the day stress the bps?

5. Also, i have a AP rack, way the iris tubs sit, it has gap for air, but should I make holes in the tubs for more ventilation? Or are bps okay without holes.

Thanks!
