    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

She is beautiful...makes me want one. What's her temperment like? I thought I heard that they dont always seem quite as tame or calm as other boas (althought i know it depends a lot on the individual)?

I think what I read was that they generally don't like to "sit still" as much as other boas. She's my first BCI, so I really don't have anything to compare her to, but during handling she's very sweet. She usually sits on my shoulder for a half hour or so after a bit of wandering. I've never had her strike at anything but prey, either :D

I believe you said on another forum that you got her from Vin Russo, if so I picked up one of her sisters at Daytona. These are one of my favorite BCI locales. To shed some light on the behavior differences with these guys, it is much different to handle a Corn Island than any other boa I have ever encountered. They will not sit still, and will not "grip" to anything for any period of time. Although like shep, mine is very tame, she did strike once but she was in shed and I was probably messing around with her a bit much. She also has on of the greatest feeding responses I have seen in a little boa, comes right out of the blanket box for a mouse. Ican't wait to see how her behavior will evolve as she grows. If she still moves like she does at six feet, it should make for some interesting handling sessions. I have to get up with Gus to secure a male for this year. Sorry for the rant, it's late and I am bored at work.

Thanks for the comparisons in behavior, Chris! Have any pics of your girl? :dancer01:

I have an extra cage to fill but not sure if i have enough to buy a corn is. Perhaps the show that comes to Tampa soon someone will have them? Thanks for the behavior info though and i agree...i'd like to see a few pics if you have them...

Here's a few pics of mine, the first one is of her in her dark phase, the flash made her look lighter than what she was. The other three is of her in her light phase, her sides are starting to bleed throught with red/orange.

The photo of her on the 2"x4" shows a little of the behavioral differences between Corns and other BCI, she would not hold still and just shot down the rail.

Nice pics, Chris!
Isn't it crazy how dark they get at times? I can see (knowing how dark mine is when she's mottled like that) how much the flash lightened her there. Mine turns nearly black for a day or two out of every ten or so.

Newest Corn Isle! (Mate to the first!)

Here's my little Caesar. He's a Red Phase from Vin Russo, and loves hangin out on his branch! Only a few more years and he'll meet Dru... :hehe:
