In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well, I had a table at the recent NH Reptile Show, and I must say, I did GREAT and had a lot of fun! I really hate to say it, but i think one of the reasons that I did so good is because a lot of the other vendors that sold Geckos new absolutely nothing about them. I went to a few tables inquiring about some geckos and the biggest response I got was "Uh, I am not sure, we just got them in". Not a good sign.

Anyway, I did find these little cuties that I just had to take home.

First is a banana blizzard (At least that is what the guy said it was)

And A Giant Day Geckos

Ok, this may sound funny, but are there different kinds? I see some out there for $60 - $150+. He was up for sale for $165 (I got him in a trade :) ) He is a little beet up, the guy said he had him in with a bunch of otheres, so I am sure he was in with at least one other male (The poor boy!)

What do you think he is? I always thought there was only one kind

Ummmm, theres no pics but I do have to say this, 165 is really steep for a regular madagascar giant day gecko. We are talking about

Phelsuma madagascariensis grandis right? If its that specific species 165 is a little steep, and if you traded I'm curious as to what you did trade. As pretty as they are they arent that expensive. I've seen them between 30-60 online.

I had a great time at the show Jeanne. Thanks for the hova-bator!

I would agree that most of the dealers knew little about their animals. That one tang male I got came from a "middleman". these weren't actual breeders. I always prefer to buy from someone like you who can help if there is a problem and to know that the gecko has been taken good care of. It would have been nice to have more knowledgeable people there and less of the competitive business approach. I hope there are more actual breeders there next time.

To think that one guy claimed his male leopard lays eggs!!! :crazy03:

Nice pics!

Tom's right, that is a grandis. Most likely wild caught, but still a neat gecko.

*also, the blizzard is very cute!

I'm glad the show went well for you Jeanne. I'm finding the same to be true at most of the shows I've started doing...people will pay a little extra when they know they'll get knowledgeable info and good customer service, even after the sale. I love explaining leopard geckos and I'm usually wiped out after a show from doing so much talking! Nice pick ups too...I've yet to come home from a show empty handed :)

Nice Geckos Jeanne,
That Giant day geckos will be gorgeous once you get him all healed up.Pretty sad when the vendors don't know what they are selling isn't it.

Looks like a banana blizzard to me and yeah there are more than one kind of day gecko LOL. Price was a little steep, but its still cool, i love the green colors.

Jeanne, lovin the little blizz. Sales must of been good because the animals were displayed so well??? LOL I hope you had a good time.

LOL!!!! The cases worked great Jeremy! I took a picture of my table, I will post it later when I get home. I wish all the equiptment I bought worked as well as the cases you made.

I bought a stand for my banner, cost me almost $100, I went to use it for the first time at the show and it broke :( Hopefully I will be able to get my money back.

Do you think the Blizzard is a Banana Blizzard? Either way, I only paid $25 :)

So I guess that makes up for the over price on the Day Gecko. I have been looking on Kingsnake and babies seem to go for about $80, and I saw sub-adults for $125, so I guess I didn't get robbed too bad...LOL

I got an email from one guy I sold a baby Leo too, his email says it all:

"Hello Jeanne - just wanted to drop you a note and tell you that the leo survived the trip north just fine.

The boy and I are thinking of naming her Sheena (after one on our favorite Ramones' tunes).

She's already gobbled her first batch of crickets.

I also wanted to give you a nod for being one of the more animal-friendly vendors I saw yesterday. You were quickest on the draw with the hand sanitizer and showed less of a shoe-salesman attitude than many of your competitors. Thanks for that.
