    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I bought a 2010 JCP at the Anaheim show a few weeks ago. I put him in his enclosure that was set up prior to me going. I just left him alone for 3 weeks. Hooked him each week to feed him out of his enclosure but each time he would strike at me from the hook. I have tried handling him but he is very aggressive. At the show i was handling him no problem no one strike or anything. This is not my first snake. I have a few BP, milk, and Red tail boas. What do you guys do to calm them down???

Carpets as a whole can be nippy when they are young and some never grow out of being aggressive or cage aggressive. You really can't do anything to calm them down... it is basically a time issue. Over time with handling, either they calm down by themselves or you will have a nippy/aggressive snake. I had a Coastal jag that was almost 2 years old that was aggressive as hell. He tried to bite me in my face with every chance he got. He would strike at me in the cage, strike at me when I got him out, strike at me when I put him back in the cage, no matter what, he would try to tag me.

I am not saying that is how your carpet will turn out, but you have to remember that carpets are not Bp's or milk snakes. Just give it a little time. Some people just let the snake bite them to "show the snake who is boss" or whatever but I don't suggest doing that because you could end up hurting the snake when it bites. Like I said, just handle him a couple of days a week for 30 minutes or so and let it get use to you. Just my .02 cents.
