Hello,
My name is Tammy, I live in Regina, SK, Canada and I am interested in learnig more about exotic pets.
I am having GREAT difficulty in locating by-laws, info, breeders, you name it regarding exotic pets/animal ownership within Canada and my province.
Does anyone have access to this info or may be able to help me out?
Of particular interest, I am interested in coati and caracals at this time, possibly other species depending on housing requirements.
I live in the city, in my own home and I sincerely doubt I will ever have children. I have fantastic animal husbandry skills from raising hybrid cats previously and am dedicated to appropriate care and socialization to enhance and encourage bonding and gentle personality traits.
I have a dog and 3 cats who are all very well trained to have good manners while not infringing upon their species-based quirks and behaviours. I have always believed that if you give an animal an appropriate outlet and reward with positive reinforcement that they will not act upon a large portion of their environment. (ie: trashing things in the house) Although, having said that, my home is pretty pet-proofed by now.
That's all for now... any info is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Tammy
