In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

New Rack Prototype

I didn't see this addressed but wouldn't heating also be a problem. No room on top for heat lights and and heat tape on the bottom wouldn't be close enough to the tub. Now, for a situation where I could see this being used is where people like to use aquariums to actually display their animals. If they only have a couple of small snakes (doesn't everyone only have a couple?) and wanted to use a couple of 20 longs or a 30s or a 40 breeders these tanks can get very heavy and clumsy to pull out. The drawer slides would certainly help in that and you could incorporate incandescent or ceramic heat emitters on top for hot spots. I have toyed with the idea of drawer slides but in my case way to many snakes make the loss of space to much to to be practical.

I think an idea like this utilizes Back heat.

Art? :)

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Give the girl a prize!

Steve, This unit will be used for my colubrids so there is no back needed in my case. Normally there will be a back panel to it utilizing flex watt as a heat source.

I never thought of using aquariums, probably because I hate them and threw them all out, but it's doable. Just not a direction I care to go.

Never thought of the back heat, that makes sense. As for the aquariums, the only thing I like about them is the visibility they give. I hate snakes in drawers (even though I have several myself) but aquariums just take up too much vertical space. I'm looking for a nice front opening cage like the Marty Made ones from Michigan.
