In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My boyfriend and I have been wanting a beardie for a long time now. We read up info on care before ever getting one. We always look at the ones at the pet shop. But I wouldn't let my boyfriend buy one. My reasoning is they are normals and priced at $69. Why pay that that much for a normal when you can get nicer animals in that price range from a breeder. But then the shipping comes into play and you do end up paying more.

Anyway to make a long story short we went to a tiny little reptile expo yesterday and found some nice looking healthy babies for much cheaper than the pet shop price! First we got a female from one vender for $40. The next vender we went to had his at $60 for a long time. But he dropped the prices pretty quick to sell them. I got a male for $35. So I think we did pretty good price wise on our first beardies.

I am assuming that they are nice normals. I do not know beardie genetics at all. So maybe one of you guys could shed some light for me?

I was told that the male I bought has a "Red" mother and a "Rainbow" father. I have heard of Red phase before. I do not know if this is what they meant? I've never heard of Rainbow though. I was also told he is het. hypo.

The female has a "Citrus" mother and a "Red" father.

I do not plan on breeding these guys. But I was just curious if these genetics sound right?

First picture is the male. His name is, Chronos (hatched Feb. 14). The second picture is the female. Her name is, Chromie (hatched Feb. 26). I've also noticed that Chronos is much smoother than Chromie.
