In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi, I'm Jennifer from the Bitterroot Valley, Montana. I recently came across fauna and have been reading for a few days. It's great to see so many informed, responsible reptile owners. I currently only have one bearded dragon, her name is Basil. She is about 15 inches long. I rescued her from a well meaning but poorly informed family last year. She has recovered like a champ and is really a funny little beast. I had another beardie, my first, named Gizzard whom I inherited from an Aunt 2 years ago. He was 7 or so when I got him and a big guy. He was very healthy and very bossy. He would only deal with me, he hated my boyfriend and parents. lol. He passed suddenly 2 weeks ago, probably from a stroke from the look of it. He and my female mated during the previous week when my boyfriend put them in the same container while he cleaned cages. They spent the day together because he said they looked happy. Well, lets just say they got along REALLY well. So Basil is around 3.5 weeks post breeding and she's acting gravid, but I can't feel any eggs and while her appetite has increased a lot, she's not gotten much rounder. If she lays any fertile eggs I plan on incubating no more than 5 of them. I have accommodations for that many Beardies and know a few people who would like to get one.

Sorry this is so long. I look forward to getting to know some of you. :)

Welcome Jennifer! Best of luck on the baby Beardies! Sorry to hear that you lost your male.
You live in a very beautiful area! I was there during the fires, in the Bitterroot area, back when I was a FF. I hope that area has recovered well from that.

Thank you

Thanks for the greetings. Yes, the Bitterroot is a beautiful place and it has recovered beautifully since the last big fires. We have good snow pack this year so hopefully not a bad upcoming fire season.

I guess I should have mentioned in my first thread, that my dad is a veterinarian so I've grown up around animals and animal husbandry. My dad and I both have an interest in reptiles and I shared my house with multiple snakes, including the 3 native American pit vipers, devenomized. Lots of lizards, salamanders, frogs, turtles and tons of furry critters as well. It's been about 7 years since the last snake died of old age. The beardies have reminded me how much I enjoy ectotherms.
