In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

At the Hamburg show, I managed to aquire two just born Jacksons...literally they were just born at the show....
We've read everything we could find and are trying desperatly to get them to eat. So far we have had no luck....Any advice? What are some good sites for more info? My experience is with Leos, and I have no idea what I am doing with these guys. We have the screen cage with live plants, branches, a drip system for water, plus we mist then often....I have a 40 watt black light for heat and am trying to rig up a UVB light.....
Any advice would be much appreciated!

My mt. meru jackson just dropped some babies 4 days ago, so maybe i can help. Remember, these babies are very small so they will heat up very easily, so be sure you don't roast em! I got mine some newborn crickets, and they would go after them but never catch them. So i picked them up, and when they opened their mouth, i cautiously put in a small newborn cricket. Thats how ive fed them the last few days. This is what read in a book, so hopefully it is right. These posts have always helped me out, i know there are people here that know more than i do too... good luck

Newborn meru's are terribly delicate and unfortunately have a very high mortality rate. Cool temps and lots of water is the key to this species. Small animals still need quite a bit of water. In regards to feeding fruit flies are your best option, the movement and size seems to attract chams much better than crickets. You do not need to put the food in their mouths, they should be hunting on their own. I would be very concerned for any baby chameleon that had to be fed in this manner.

I agree with Jason, I used to work with Jacksons a lot (not the meru's) but with baby jax the best thing is fruit flies, lots of mistings and good air flow. They may not eat the first couple of days like any newborn but should hunt the food on their own.
