Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just had to vent a little as this irritates the he!! out of me. I dont know about anyone else here but in the last couple of days I received a lot of spam emails from these new "reptile classified" sites. STOP! I am not going to post the URL’s as I don’t want to advertise for them. All I can say is if you are starting a new classified site build it the old fashion way, by hard work. Not by being some lazy numbskull trying to steal traffic and advertisers from the sites that have earned it! I don’t mean to be rude but damn can’t anyone earn anything in this world any more. Rich never spammed any sites, Jeff never did so what is it with some of you other people with classified reptile sites? If your site is worth anything we will all find it in time, in the mean time stop spamming. Half these sites that spam absolutely suck, if they were worth a sh!t they wouldn’t have to spam people because they would get traveled as heavy as this one or kingsnake. So if your from one of those sites KNOCK IT OFF! I propose that we all get together on this one and boycott any sites that spams for traffic, what do ya’ll say? Sorry but that gets on my nerves.
 
You would think they would at least have approached me about advertising here. I made a decision a while back that I would not turn away someone just because they could be construed as competition for my own site. All I can say, is more power to them. As Jason stated, if a site has what people want, people will find them anyway.

Hmm, Jeff Barringer told me whom is behind that site, but darned if I can remember. Danged old age.............
 
Ive got it from 3 or 4 of these news sites lately, some through here some threw kingsnake, id post them but I dont want to advertise, the one I got tonight its no wonder they have to spam because the site SUCKS! but its been a bunch of differant ones lately
 
I'll boycott it... But, I probably don't go there anyway..... I usually just go here, k-snake, and frognet.

The thing that bugs me the most about these companies doing the spamming is that the subject makes it look like someone actually interested in the animals I have posted for sale. I really need to sell what I have posted and I don't have time for this kinda crap. I open it up and wham, "We saw your ad and here's our free classified where you can expand the number of people who see your ad(like I need the owner of the site and the three other people that see it THAT bad). Good luck selling your snake." That is an example of one of 8 I've gotten in the last two days from the same company. All of them end by saying"Good luck selling your snake." Umm, guess if they cared enough they would know that out of the 3 or 4 ads they're spamming me on, only ONE has any snakes for sale in it.

And like Jason said, if your site was worth its salt, you wouldn't be here trying to spam everyone to go to it. You would have customers there on their own.
 
Rob thats the same idiot thats been spamming me. Oh well I left him know what I think of his site on his classifieds boards.
Shawn now their just doing it to irrate those of us posting within this thread. We can either boycott them all togther or place some very tastefull words on their boards. Then maybe when they spend more time deleting the only posts they get theyll learn to stop.

If it's who I think it is, they spammed my site a coupla times too. Something similar to an (also unethical) software company that produces substandard operating systems, but with the last half of the name changed? ;)
 
They have sent emails to all the addresses on both websites and my home email. Look up your states spam Laws and send it as your reply.
 
The worst of these offenders has to be reptilianclassifieds.com. I don't know where they're harvesting email addresses from, or more accurately, where they AREN'T.

I can also see that they have no problem allowing the bottom feeders of the reptile industry to advertise on their site, despite the ads being obvious atempts to defraud. These ads were reported over a week ago, but are still posted.

There's a few reputable people that have advertised there, but I can assure you that I'd never be one of them so long as their webmaster continues what appears to be their policies of spam anyone & everyone, and silently condoning theft by deception.

Besides, I get more than enough "exposure" on far better sites than that one.:D

I have been getting these emails that say, "About Your Ad" or "In response to your ad"... but the content always has a reference to a free classifieds. I never bothered to visit them, just deleted the messages!

But Take Out Reptiles, Jeezo, I had no idea. I mean, I realize some people eat them but that's going too far!

now is this a program that people can buy and use to obtain email adresses or are they paying for large lists of the email addresses? I dont get it, because if they are buying the lists, couldnt we all get togther and sue them because they are profitting off our screen names?
 
Listbuilder is owned by Microsoft. It is an email delivery system, the emails were harvested by reptilianclassifieds and then uploaded to the Listbuilder system. SPAM is against their TOS.
