    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

hello... i am a newbie to snakes ( I have 2 corns *anery & sunglow* and a Blk/Wh Cal. King ) and i am not afraid to say that I dont know that much about the genetics of it all or alot of the technical terms and names but could someone answer a few questions i have....
1) can a snow and a ghost produce a black albino?
2) if so, what is the probability that, that black albino would/could be het. for snow?

If by black albino you mean anerythistic, no red, then yes, the snow/ghost combo can if the snow is hetero/het/heterozygous (all three mean the same thing, carrying but not expressing the gene in question) for anerythism. I've had it occur myself. Then you get into what type of anerythism, A or B, with yellow or without.

If the black albino/anerythistic baby had a parent that was snow, the baby would be het for snow.

And I think serpwidgets.com is a site about cornsnake genetics.

Have fun with them, they're great pets.

the Black Albino (Anery) I speak of does have yellow....
This snake was said to be 66% het. for Snow and 100% het. for Ghost...
and i was thinking of breeding it to a Snow that was said to be 100% het for Ghost...

what would be an estimated outcome for a clutch?
lets just say they have a clutch of 25 ...
what would the estimated percentage ( Anery - Snow- Ghost )for that be?

If the anery IS het for snow, then breeding it to a snow het ghost (ie het hypo), the offspring would be:
3/8 anery het snow 66% chance het ghost
1/8 ghost het snow
3/8 snow 66% chance het hypo
1/8 coral snow (snow homozygous hypo)

If the anery is NOT het snow, the same breeding would produce:
3/4 anery het snow 66% chance het ghost
1/4 ghost het snow

The presence of yellow does not distinguish between anery A and anery B (charcoal).
