Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Newbie with problems.. Need help.

I did a search for this, but I couldn't find anything. Maybe I wasn't searching correctly or something, I dunno.. But here's my problem:

I have a 34.7G female Hypo-Tangerine female (I've had her about 3 weeks now.) that stopped eating. When I first got her she would eat 3-4 crickets every meal time, but now she just stopped completely. Just the past 4 days she's stopped. I've been watching her weight, she isn't losing any. She's active in her cage, and has been drinking water.. I have one more female and a male leopard gecko and they eat like crazy.

Any suggestions? Is it normal for them to just completely stop eating for a while, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

You posted in the wrong spot, but im sure a mod will move the post.

Has the temps in your leos cage droped lower then normal? have you done anything differnt as far as the feeders you are useing?

It has gotten colder here, we were having heater problems. She did get moved into another cage that doesn't have as much heating. But the temp has been around 85-90 on the strip thermostat I have. The first day she stopped eating though, she was still in the same cage she was when I first got her.
 
It is a possibility that she could be getting ready to shed. If she doesn't eat in a day or so i would take her to a vet, there could be something very wrong with her.
 
Thanks for the advice. I'll make sure to do that if she doesn't start to eat really soon.

You need to supply that gecko with some "normalcy." Seclude her from the other geckos and keep her in the same cage. Her environment is different from the one she had before so moving her will keep her stressed if not worsen it. Call the breeder if you can and find out exactly how she was kept and do the best you can at replicating it. Make sure he/she fed her crickets or mealworms, and keep mealworms ready for her to eat at any time she sees fit. I almost forgot, keep a dish of calcium in her cage also!
