In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi all,

Not much to say about me. I've loved animals since I was crawling around with our first family dog at 9 months of age, and have included them in my life in some form or another since them. My father was a farm boy growing up---instead of getting creeped out when I became fascinated with the typical urban fauna we have in Houston, he encouraged my interest. He helped me catch countless tiny frogs, geckos, and grass snakes; and he was just as happy to help me release them after studying them. The exposure to snakes and lizards at such a young age helped temper any fear that Southern culture tries to instill in its young of such things, leaving me with a very open mind. One of my first pets was a set of mice, then some rats. I kept pet rats up through my 20s, and my fondness for them still proves problematic on feeding days.

I found this site years ago when I purchased my very first ball python (a normal from Petsmart...I know, I know). She was the cutest and sweetest little hatchling--laid back, not skiddish, and so much fun. It wasn't long before I started crossing over into obsession once I found out about the work being done with morphs. Not long after, life happened. I went through an unexpected divorce, moved from the country into town, finished my degree, got a new job...yada yada yada. My hopes of delving deeper into the reptile hobby were put on hold until last year. At this time in 2015, I lost my baby brother at 28. Two months ago, I lost a cousin under similarly tragic circumstances.

The death of my brother put things in perspective. Long story short, I decided to stop putting dreams and interests off. I began researching, and eventually purchased my two dream snakes--a BEL and a pied. I couldn't quite pull the trigger on making the investment to breed until recently. I've put together a very small collection of breeders and hatchlings, several of which were purchased from sellers on this site, and I'm trying to learn all I can. It's been a roller coaster ride--it was a large investment for someone on a single income, but it's brought me quite a bit of joy and I'm having a blast.

At this time, my collection is that of a basic beginner in the breeding hobby. I still love pieds and white snakes, so I'll focus on starting there. To that end, I have:

Breeders:
.1 Mojave
.1 Lesser
.1 Mocha
.2 Possible Het Pieds (were misrepresented as 100% at time of purchase--long story)
1. Pied
1. Mocha Spider
1. Cinnamon Lesser
1. Banana
1. Mystic Pastel

Hatchlings and Juveniles:
.1 Pied (2015)
.1 BEL (Mojave Lesser)
.1 Super Mocha
.1 Het Pied Sterling Sandblast
1. Het Pied Sterling Sandblast
1. Champagne

Nice meeting everyone!

Hello from upstate NY

Hi everyone:

I've been here for several weeks now, and I've gotten the courage to introduce myself!

I am a high school biology teacher in upstate New York. I've always been a cell and micro biology person, never liked reptiles. Then, my brother started giving me parts of his collection of geckos and other reptiles since he ran out of room in his apartment. I took care of them in my back lab that I have in my classroom, and really just took care of them nonchalantly.

A few months ago, one of my students decided to bring his ball python in. His mother turned off the heat to his house. He wanted to keep his snake in my back lab because it is always between 80 - 90 degrees. Plus, people around the community just GIFTED me reptiles (the parents really don't want to take care of their children's pets anymore) THINKING that I wanted them. When I met Duct Tape (his BP), I was hooked. I always thought snakes were creepy - they felt like leather boots gone zombie - but Duck Tape is the sweetest "mean" creature I have ever met! 2 weeks later, I went to a breeder and got my own BP. Her name is Banana Chip. Now I have PLANS to get more! WINK WINK

Here are the members of my Reptile Sanctuary:

0.1 crested gecko "Orangina"
0.1 caledodian gecko "Cam"
1.1 leopard geckos "Pretty" and "Janet"
0.1 orange bearded dragon "Oscar"
0.1 blue tongue skink ""Iro"
2.0 ball pythons (soon to be 2.1) "Duct Tape" and "Banana Chip"

Hoping to learn from all of you,

Annie
