    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What happened with Hong Kongensis? Those used to be $7 to $10 about 10 years ago and wholesalers had them by the hundreds. Were they collected from the wild to the point of near extinction?

Those were mass WC-imports from Asia. They stopped allowing imports some years ago. Very few newt breeders work with breeding Paramesotriton sp. in the US. They, and the never-bred Pachytriton sp. are going to disappear from the US hobby.
 
Actually there are plenty working with paramesotriton and there have been pachytriton breed in the usa it was done last year towards the end of the year by a breeder from Wisconsin
 
This post is from almost a year ago. I like this website, but that’s one of its major flaws. Things from a very long time ago can appear current if one person responds to the thread. I seriously doubt he has any of these animals anymore.
