In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello, my name is Krystal Gibbs. I purchased a 1.1 double het caramel ghost pair from nh reptiles / Skip Seavey on Sept. 6th, 2014. the male was born. 8-21-13 and the female was born 11-23-12.

I will admit first hand I did not inquire about weight due to their ages before purchasing. I e-mailed him (of which I will provide all response's to and from him in the comments) inquiring of the weights of said animals. He informed me that he only "Maintenance Feeds" his for sale animals so they are "smaller than normal". I was perfectly fine and expected maybe 6 to 800grams at the smallest for the female and maybe 3 or 4 on the male given the fact the female is 2 years and the male is 1 year. Also, he never told me their weights, only that they were smaller.

The animals I received were SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than I expected. I will provide photographic evidence of each animal on the scale.

The female, at 2 years old, weighs in at 275 grams with a mildly prominent spinal cord.
The male, at 1 years, weighs in at 170grams as well with a mildly prominent spinal cord.

I informed him of my unhappiness and felt of misleading of the animals, and his reply was that he could do nothing.

I purchased from him because he had quality animals, honest pricing, and came recommended. I will not be purchasing from him again as seeing the condition of these animals.

I ask because all the pictures were of hatchlings but all the birthdates were 1 to 2 years old. so I'm just wanting to make sure I got the right ones I was hoping for.

Thanks,
Krystal

The pics may have been old but they are of the animals
They are not hatchlings, but we only feed to maintain so they are smaller.

Hey,
I will be honest in that I am not happy in the animals I received. I understand you maintenance feed, but I did not realize that I would be receiving a 2 year old that is smaller than most 6 month olds. I did know their weight at the time of purchase. If I had, I honestly would not of bought them based on their ages. I was anticipating a 7 to 800gram female at 2 years at least. The female weighs in at 250g and the male is at 175g.

I really don't want to cause any problems but these are not what I was wanting size wise versus their advertisement.

Krystal I told you that they were small from the very beginning that they were maintenance fed only. We just don't have cage space for raising up animals that are being sold. If you wanted something with more size you should have asked for weights. I never once misrepresented the animal's, they are as I said healthy but maintenance fed and would put weight on quickly.
After the fact I don't know what you would like me to do.

That is starving the animals. There is no reason a yearling should be basically hatchling size and a 2 year old be the same weight as one that's a few months old. His excuse of maintenence feeding is garbage. He starved them because he is too cheap to feed an animal he is selling.
Did he provide any paperwork with the hatch dates that you could post? I would be furious if I was the buyer and paid for a yearling male and 2 year old female and got that. I would question the genetics as well. Doesn't sound like a reputable seller.

The Certificates

Here are the two certificates he sent with the two "babies".

I can't seem to be able to search on my phone. Hopefully someone else can search on this sellers name. I am almost positive Skip has had some other problems in the past with snakes.

Being a little underweight is one thing, these animals were outright neglected and starved. The Seller was intentionally being shady and misguiding you on this purchase. Rodents do not cost that much for a year, so claiming Maintenance feeding is just an excuse. Seller should refund the money without hesitation. Just my thoughts.

CV Exotics. That's what I remember. Guess he changed the business name.

I'd be embarrassed to say I maintenance feed... Bigtime! Very valuable lesson learned for a newer person.

Always ask those questions you are scared to! Or you will get packed. It's a fact, trust nobody till they, themselves, are proven by you as 'solid.'

Hard lesson learned indeed. I just have to hope they prove out and not end up with two normals... I paid a fair amount for them. He's refusing any sort of refund or partial refund. So I'm out the money. Here's to hoping when the female finally get's to size that they prove out.... :(

I guess that is one way to keep your overhead down. My yearlings are all larger than that female, most are double and triple that weight. I might have an early '14 bigger than that female and for sure bigger than that male. Sad, why do I have a negative recollection of this breeder? Was someone connected with this breeder involved in that NERD theft?

Dave

That's right. Skip is the one who paid that person to steal the axanthic bee from NERD. Guess there are no ethics in that family.

Crap. Was it Skip or Scott? Don't they both work together?

So last year about this time a saw a snake that was listed and contacted them for details asking specifically about the weight. And got a response that turned me off quickly. I continued with the conversation to see the explanation for the weight issue and it was the "maintenance feeding response". What a joke and so freaking cheap. This just confirms that did made a good decision to stay away form them. Here is a screen shot of the emails.

Need to put the clown that sold you those animals on the same "maintenance" feeding schedule as his snakes!;)

Ed, you wrote that like Skip had nothing to do with the physical location, business, website or any involvement with CV Exotics.

That's not true. They were both doing business under that name.

Never heard anything about Skip being involved, all I heard was Scott was found guilty of the crime.
