• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Bad Guy Nicole Norton/Howlinn gale dragons,Bad guy very bad guy.

I agree that we cant and shouldn't hold every buyers hand to make sure they don't get screwed. At the same time if someone allows people we know to be bad business men and women to sell animals on their site then don't they assume some of the responsibility? Obviously disclaimers cover them but in a moral sense?

Also I don't think the sticky idea is really feasible but I could see a sticky thread containing a list of KNOWN SCAMMERS and all their known aliases. Just as a quick reference. Of course then it comes down to who qualifies as a scammer and who decides but honestly nothing is easy, and some things are worth the effort.

Ok folks, this is getting way out of hand now. Discussion of site policies, whether this site or another one have no place in this thread. If you want to discuss the policies of THIS site, use the feedback forum. As for policies of another site, it has little place here at all.

To address some of the things stated I'll make a few comments and expect these sideline issues to be put to rest in this thread.

First off, no petition is going to get anyone banned, it doesn't matter who they are. Things like this have been discussed ad nauseum in the past so I'm not going to go over it all yet again. Suffice it to say, there are several ways to get banned from the site, but they all involve actions on the part of the person as they pertain to the site, not their business actions.
The mods nor Rich are ever going to act as judge and jury and ban anyone for being a bad guy. If you need further clarification ask in the feedback forum.

As for the Torres sticky, that issue is the reason the BOI exists in the first place. It was a bad deal Rich experienced that resulted in the creation of this site to help provide a way to research people and warn others of bad business dealings.
You'll notice that it is the ONLY bad guy thread that is a sticky. In all probability it will be the only one that ever is. We're not going to start a bad guy hall of fame with stickies. The search function works very well, and if someone can't use it to find information on someone without having it stuck right in front of them, then it's not our responsibility to fill the first page of the BOI with stuck threads of the worst offenders.

Now lets keep this thread on the topic of Nicole.
