In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have two 100% het for albino BP that are not eating. How can I get these guys to eat??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Jeannie

try scenting them like gerbils, washing the mice or rats to lessen the smell, stab the prey to leak the blood scent

if all else fails force feeding can get them to aquire the taste of mice and rats

this worked with mine

1. First try feeding in a darkened room or container. They like they're privacy sometimes. 2. If your snake is eating f/t try live or if eating live try f/t. 3. If you feed live try feeding smaller items that don't move around as much. I've noticed that this tends to intimidate the snake. 4. If you feed in a seperate container, take the your BP's hide and put the prey inside of it in the feed box. This works best with young prey such as mouse fuzzys or rat pups, depending on the size of your snake. It mimics the wild setting of a rodent nest. If you feed inside of the enclosure, just take the BP out and put the prey inside it's hide then return the snake. This tends to work well. 5. You can try braining the prey (f/t) by splittingthe skull and smearing brain matter down the nose. 6. As previously mentioned, try scenting with a gerbil or actually feed a gerbil. Feeding gerbils should not be done too much though because you don't want it to be the only thing they will eat. 7. Force feeding should be an absolute last resort with Ball Pythons. They are already finicky and force feeding is very stressful for them. You don't want them associating food with stress and compounding your feeding problems. And remember, they can go quite a while without food and still be o.k. I wouldn't even start to be concerned until about 2 months without a meal. You should keep track of their wieght. If they aren't losing too much wieght and they are acting normal and alert, then you shouldn't worry too much. I would wiegh them once a week and keep track of any fluctuations(sp). Good luck.

Jeannie,

Did they ever eat for you? What was the previous owner feeding them? Who bred them?

Regards,

Dan

I'm fairly certain shes talking about two we sold her recently. I am almost 100% certain the guys had them on thawed rat pups taken from tongs. Before that.. live hoppers. The scenting trick may work for fussy eaters, same with the "isolation" trick using a dark hide. Keep an eye on wieghts and do not force feed, its a last resort. Sometimes after shipping bps can be a bit fussy.... Then again, it does not take much to persuade a bp into being fussy lol

Go ahead and drop us a line if the issue persists and we'll accomidate you in any way we can. I'm sure with a little bit of patience they'll begin feeding again, they had some real good weight on them and were feeding weekly here for us. TTYS, GOOD LUCK!

Actually, it is two male hets I have. The female is eating like a champion. I finally got the male to eat that I got from TSE. Thanks for the help on that one Chris. As for the other male I have, he has eaten for me before but has since stopped. The breeder is Rick Krumrine. I'm going to keep trying and hopefully he'll eat soon.

Great to hear! I knew you had ordered from us, I just did not have the invoice on hand when replying. Either way I'm happy our animal ate for you, I knew it would! I'm sure the other one you purchased from Rick will as well using my previous suggestions. :)

Have a great evening!
