In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Northern Berks Reptile Show?

I only found one that had a website, and they're booked. I may just drive on up Friday & try to find something once I'm there. But I'm still looking for a room. It would be nice to have reservations before I arrive. Too far from home to sleep in my truck. I don't know my way around the Hamburg area. Guess I'll have to call some of the hotels & see what they tell me. I'm not cheap, but I don't want to pay over $100 just to shower & sleep for about 6 hours.

I can understand that. Would you be against staying in Allentown? It is about 20-30 minutes away but it is right off 78. I've stayed at some there and they are reasonable as well as they aren't disgusting little holes. :hehe:

No, I wouldn't mind a half hour ride in the morning. I've got at least nine hours of driving Friday, so a 20-30 minute drive Saturday morning wouldn't make much of a difference. It's going to be great meeting some of you. BTW, the drivers seat in my truck gets uncomfortable after the first few hours. So if I walk funny, you'll know why!

 My legs and arse fall asleep after a couple hours of driving and my seat is comfortable.

Crap, I am having no luck finding any availability in allentown so far. There must be a classic car show or something going on. That's the only time these places fill up...

How did you make out at the show Cricket? We only sold 4 dragons.....(mutters explatives about people selling hatchlings for 20 bucks). I saw several tables with dragons that couldn't have been more than a week or 2 old for sale. I would have conversed a while with you but I had to work last night before driving to the show. Needless to say I disappeared to my car for a couple hours to nap. :hehe:

Jim, were you at the show?

I did pretty good at Hamburg. I'd told my husband that if I made X amount of money there, then I'd at least be satisfied. I made 50% more than my expectations, so I'm definitely not complaining. It sure got hot in that building. After the show, I drove across Pa to the Pittsburgh show for Sunday. I made my expenses back for that one, and a little extra cash. But over-all, I was a little disappointed with the turnout at that one. Not a bad show, but not one of the best either.
And yes, I saw the tiny hatchlings some other vendors had. What a shame.

Sadly, circumstances conspired to prevent me from travelling for the show. I do plan to be at the next one, in October.

We may hit the October one. All depends on the circumstances and if we are relocated to a different state. I think we had more people grab business cards than dragons. A lot of people looking and coming back several times but not many takers. Next time I will set the prices a little lower to start.

Almost forgot. How did you like your first show Traci? Snakes do pretty well at Hamburg.

It was a positive experience, even if not from a sales standpoint. I sold lots of used and new supplies but as far as the corn snakes, mostly only my "out of the egg" and non feeders (cheaper ones) sold. I did sell a real nice amel from candy cane parents for $25 that had just shed and fed for the first time the day before, but the rest were less than that.

I had nice "neigbhors" on either side of me, and talked with nice people, met an on-line friend for the first time, and it was my birthday. So overall it was a good day for me. Don't know how soon I will do it again, but I will some time.

It was extremely HOT in there!! Whew!

The heat isn't so bad at the beginning but once the people start pouring in the heat rises exponentially. We brought little fans so it wasn't so bad.
