In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Not happy with Tom Carlton at Cypress Creek Reptiles

Daniel,
You customers are upset. This is a life we are talking about, not just a package. Plus there might have been some loss of pay for these work absences:

The OP had to take off work to be home Thursday AM when it never showed then had to ask to leave work again this AM to pick it up at fed ex hub.

.

I have an email in my sent box saying that you guys are going to get your refund dated before you threatened me.

In the time it took to send an email, you could have sent the refund. You can do that now. It does not seem right that you are withholding money from the paying party because the other party was upset and showed it.

Everyone can apologize to everyone else for the various harsh words, but the refund needs to be in your customer's pocket.

The refund was on it's way. This guy gets on the phone threatens my saying "you do what I say or else, yelling in my ear. After calling me a liar and a theif. So you are telling me that happens to you, and you are going to say "very well sir, the refund is forthcoming"?

Dude your nuts. I was at work. No way I am yelling like that there. LOL! It's very quiet there and people here everything....

I think that if the 2 people involved in this deal had been left to work it out, they could have. I know you(Anthony) say you're not a hot head and maybe you aren't, but your first e-mail posted isn't exactly friendly. "No please don't say you don't know how this happened!" "in a sock! Really!? This is how u do buisness?" "I expect Luis to get his refund by the end of the day and people will hear about this also." Why were you involved in this again? Your friend seems intelligent enough in his first post to handle his own business. You went in with demands and threats and effectively spoiled a situation that could have been easily worked out.

In looking at the Fedex label, I can't decide if it was filled out by 1 person or 2. If you look at the checks for 2nd day, other, no signature, and direct signature, they seem a little darker than the name and address. The numbers on the top, 587 or whatever that says, also seem a little heavier and you'll notice that the 7 on the top has a line through it but none in the address section do which MAY indicate a different author. Luis, do you by any chance still have the box laying around? Maybe you could take a look at it and see if the ink looks the same or if it's different. I just can't see it that good in the picture.

A new sock, not a cleaned sock, seems like a good way to ship a small snake. Socks would offer more cushioning than a regular bag or a deli. What's not to like? Buy 2 snakes, get a free pair of socks! :D

Most people would swallow their pride and just do it. Was this negative BOI thread worth it? You have to see the big picture.

This is kind of irrelevant. He said someone else dropped off the package. That person got charged $32 less than they should have for shipping. If I dropped of a snake and got charged $28 instead of $60, (just an example) I think I would question it. It's still the shippers responsibility, since he sent this person to do his errand. I hate this blame the employee (family member, friend, whatever) for my screw up thing.

Good point. That is exactly why I was going to refund the shipping stait away. I fully except that the error in shipping is mine. But you get on the phone and threaten me in a hatefull tone of voice, after calling me a liar, and implying that I'm this was all intentional. Then I have a problem with you.

Absolutely! And responsibility doesn't change no matter the results. I just like to know if what someone said is the truth or if they're lying.

I said it previously but :iagree:

Just curious how and why it took four months to respond to this and because of a few harsh words, hurt feelings or whatever, Luis is still out of a refund. If it wasn't to make things right, what was the point of a response at all? To tell your side? Coming in here and saying "I was called names so I won't do it" seems a bit juvenile don't you think? I get a mental picture of crossed arms and some foot stomping going on. Besides, it wasn't Luis calling you names so he still doesn't get a refund because.....?

Sure No one likes being called things and feathers get ruffled, but I think this would've all been avoided had there been more care taken when shipping the snake and if an apology and refund had been given immediately after being contacted about the error. You also seem to have forgotten that this was an animal that was shipped, not a sweater as I had said previously in this post. There seems to be more concern about being called names then what could've happened to this snake because of carelessness.

Just my two cents.

Actually, that's a bit irrelevant since we do not know how this was paid for. The shipping label contains an account number which, if it works like my account does, means no one paid anything at the time of the drop off. The account is later billed to the card on file. The seller would not have known what he was charged until long after the package arrived, and that's only if he checked.

I'm sorry, I'm on no sides here, but to say I know I owe him a refund for the shipping...BUT I will only do it if his partner apologizes to me...are you serious? How old are we? You know the right thing to do...you said it yourself. This guy that you feel was rude to you and hurt your feelings is not the one getting hurt by your refusal of a $23 refund...the other guy is...so deal with him and do the right thing. And I think it hurts your rep a lot more by refusing to do so. You are showing that you are someone lacking integrity by being so petty and juvenile in this regard.

Is $23 really worth 6700 views on the BOI? It seems to me that you are holding the refund from your customer due to the actions of his friend. I would refund the $23 and move on. The stress and bad publicity are really not worth it.

You were not there. But you way in as though it's nothing. My reaction was 4 months ago. The whole thing is ridiculously blown out of proportion. If Luis will contact me, on where he wants' the check mailed, I will refund him the difference in shipping owed because it showed up 2nd day. He can't help it if his friend is a prick.

You are correct, I was not there. I understand customers that can be picky and demanding (I have fallen into that catergory myself). I understand that you feel as though you are "letting them win" by issuing the refund. In the long run, is it really worth dragging the issue out over though?

Personally I would have told the friend to go fly a kite and resolved the issue with the buyer directly. You will look better in the long run by just correcting the issue and moving on.

At this point its all his word over mine. So its just going to go back and forth. I know what was said. Luis was with me when me and Tom spoke also and knows the truth. I didn't freak out at all. I think we can put it to bed. I will tell Luis to give you his paypal.
