    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Now, this is strange.......

It took me three tries to post that thread about the server move being finished. The first two times I got an error message stating that I had posted a duplicate of a previous message posted, when obviously I had not.

It appears to be either intermittent, or triggered by something I haven't figured out yet.

Anyone else experience this?
 
I had that happen to me a week or two ago, Rich...but, if its any consolation, I received 3 email notifications for that thread, lol.
 
I haven't had any issues....have made a few posts in the last half hour or so, and nothing odd here. In fact, it seems faster than usual on my end, lol.
 
The only issue I am having is if I go to post the webpage will time out. I thought it was on my end with my wireless acting up. But when I use quick reply it is fine. When I use the reply button it timesout on me once in awhile.

I just marked it down as internet mishaps........

Gary,

What do you mean by the webpage timing out? And what kind of timeframe are you talking about?
 
I would hit the reply button. Then it would click over to a white page. About say 10 seconds latter it would say webpage not found. (I call that a webpage time out lol)


If I refreshed it I would get it to load time.
 
Well, my first guess would be a problem from my other server carrying the banner ad software. I have noted intermittent lockups of that server, lasting maybe 2 to 4 minutes that have hosed things up for the duration because the pages on THIS server cannot load those banner ads. But hopefully that will be taken care of when all the sites on that server get moved to this current server as well. There are some drawbacks to trying to distribute the loading among several servers. You can get hosed anyway if any ONE of the needed servers goes haywire.

Shame I don't really like the taste of alcohol or I would allow this stuff to drive me to drink....... :ack2: All it does now is to drive me to cussing a lot.
 
If you like fruit juices, you could go with tastes that complement & blend... Parrot Bay (or Malibu) with pineapple -add a little OJ and/or cranberry, if you like. Absolut Citron and lemonade is another good one. :thumbsup:

I like to drink, though I don't do it nearly as much as I should
 
TOday it has not happened at all. I have noticed the site is loading faster to tell you the truth.

Well NOW you went and done it.......... Murphy is surely listening in and will step in to do his thing now. Either the new data center or the new server this site is on is now most certainly doomed....
 
tonight things have been really slow loading and it appears to be the faunaads .. web page loading seems to get stuck on it for well over a minute before finally finishing loading the page. It's like being back on dial up almost. :)
 
The problem usually clears up in a couple of minutes. As soon as I feel comfortable that the new server is stable, FaunaAds and the rest of the domains on that server will be moved to this new one. Hopefully it won't be too much load on the box..... :shrug01:
 
Not loading fast here at all. :shrug01:
It loads sloooooow or I get a blank green screen or I get a message that the site is unavailble.
 
Weird...normally if anyone has issues, it's me.

Everything is loading really quickly here tonight. :D
 
Not sure what ISP you all are using, but I KNOW I am having issues with Comcast. But trying to get anywhere with their Customer Disservice reps is a lost cause.

Using Verizon FIOS (great service BTW for anyone considering switching).
