    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

We need help to stop the killing/torturing of squirrels.
We are not trying to get anyone in trouble. We as a group just want the killing and abuse/torture of innocent squirrels stopped. Marcus Cherry of Magnolia, TX is killing squirrels. His number is (281) 356-2003. Please ask him to stop or call one of the numbers below (the more complaints and calls that are done the higher the chance of the torture/killing to stop). Again our organization is not trying to get anyone in trouble; again, we just want to the squirrels to live and be free of abuse and torment. We have multiple people posting animal ads in our group; and we are involved in animal rescue and rehabilitation (Raccoons, Deer, Raccoons, Squirrels, Opossums, Rabbits).

We read your rebuttal yesterday Mr. Cherry. Firstly, the individual you slandered yesterday on Craigslist is not a part of our volunteer rehabilitation group. Secondly, squirrels will continue to go after any tree with any form of nuts on them. You efforts are fruitless if that was truly your intention. Also you mention an attic however you live in a small trailer in a residential area. The entire area has been scouted by someone in our group. Squirrels obviously did not get into an attic that doesn’t exist. You are also shooting them are your property in a residential area with children nearby. Also you hang squirrels from strings so hawks can kill them; that is barbarically sadistic. Additionally, you keep them locked in cages until you get around to your torture endeavors.

Heck, I used to enjoy having the squirrels around when Connie and I first moved down here. It was actually a lot of fun trying to outwit them when it came to keeping them out of the bird feeders. But it was more like a game, and although I would rather the birds get the feed, they didn't seem to really harm anything. That is, until they started attacking my new bamboo shoots in my groves every spring. They would chew up a lot of them as they came up out of the ground, but even the ones that grew to 20 ft tall or more, they would leap to the tops of them, chew the center, and kill that shoot completely. Now we're talking about timber bamboo that can get to 6 inches in diameter and 50 ft. tall or more. So yeah, they done pissed me off.

Unfortunately, you just can't train squirrels to do anything they don't want to do, or to NOT do something they WANT to do. You can't discourage them. Threats have no meaning to them. You can't convince them they they really should leave your bamboo alone on pain of death. So now, unfortunately, i have to shoot every one I can around here. I really hate to do it, but although I did like the squirrels, unfortunately for them, I like my bamboo a LOT more. So they forced me to have to choose one over the other. And too bad for them, but they lost.........

And before anyone suggests it, yes, I have tried live traps. I caught exactly ONE (1) that way. Somehow every other squirrel in this area now knows to not go into the darn things, no matter what. They will climb all over the trap, dig underneath it, and shake the hell out of it trying to get the bait out, but they absolutely will NOT go inside.

As for the torture part, heck, honestly, if torturing one and then turning it loose so it could tell the story to all the rest of the squirrels so they would stay away from here, yes, I would try that. But since I have probably wounded a few that got away to tell about it, and the story didn't impress the rest of the squirrel population, I seriously doubt the torture thing would work neither...
