In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy nybully24

I agree Nick, some "good names" there.

Laura is right too. If I see an ad that is "local sales" only, I move along if I'm not local. So what if it's a killer deal? No way would I try and coach someone who does not feel comfortable/want to ship, on how to do it.

No money changed hands. NyBully24 is NOT a scammer.

Well, for those wondering about payment, I did offer paypal. He said he wasn't set up. I told him during our phone call to text me his address and I would shoot a money order to him first thing. Again in the morning I asked for it several times via text and voice mail. Still no response. For those of us in the legitimate business world, your "word" is what is used to conduct business. (I'll make a note not to do business with those of you who put the "all mighty dollar" above that).
As for shipping his concern was not knowing how to ship. I understand that and have dealt with it before. I told him I could send him everything he needed, so all he had to do was box up the animal and drop it off at a Fed-Ex. After receiveing a text from him at 10:30am the next morning regarding not feeling comfortable about shipping, I let him know that I was still trying to find someone to pick up for me. By noon that had happened and I left that in a voice mail and text. I did not hear back from him even after leaving several text throughout the day. I called him at 8:30pm to no answer. Followed immediately by a text saying he had sold the animal earlier and forgot about letting me know till later.
I saw on his "cages" add that it was posted at 6:00 am that morning. He had long sold the snake out from under me and was to coward to say so. If you consider this ethical business then good luck in pedaling your wares. I'll stick to the honest, trustworthy individuals in this business who give it respect and a "good name"!!

...well good luck with business Doc...

I was simply letting everyone know this guy doesn't hold his word or do what he say's. I wasn't forcing him to ship. Only offering to help him learn how. He said he would hold it for me so someone could pick it up, and didn't. He told me he would text me his payment info, and didn't. Everyone I've dealt with has been forthright and easy to do business with. This guy wasn't, and I wanted people to know. If that makes me the bad guy then so be it. But I stand by what I say and you can decide for yourselves if there is any harm in that.

I would REALLY like to see images of your emails or texts with him to see the exact discussion... in your first thread you mentioned nothing of offering to help him ship them to you... screen shots would be very helpful... either way, if he had someone local offer to pick them up sooner than the least he could have done was give you a courtesy call, text, or email.

But creating a bad guy thread and leaving him negative trader ratings is uncalled for. It makes you look like the bad guy that is upset you missed out on a deal and didn't get your way.

I'm not upset I didn't get the snake. I have other offers out there. I was simply trying to let people know that this guy doesn't do what he says. Buyer beware, I guess. I'm putting this to rest, as I will any other warnings I feel will help someone. It's done nothing but come back at me. So I'll take it and walk away!

We appreciate the warnings but I (as well as others including Focal X) would like to see screen shots of the emails or your text messages to verify that indeed he said it was a solid deal so that we can back up your feelings. Without proof that he sold it from under you or didn't keep his word that it was definately sold to you and he would hold it until payment was made and pickup as well, we can't really say that he is a bad guy scammer that you claim him to be.

I'm the one that bought the snake!!!! I PM'ed him at around 4am the day he posted the ad he PM'ed me back his cell number and I made arrangements to pick up the snake the next day. He even texted me to be sure I was getting it. This is a good guy when I picked the snake up he also gave me 3 XXL guinea pigs, a rabbit, 15 small rats, two heat lamps, a log, lights, a heavy duty water bowl and he helped me to my car with everything. If anyone wants proof I'll post pics of the snake and all the stuff. This don't seem like a bad guy to me I'll do business with him anytime. By the way if you check the ad all that stuff wasn't included he could charged at least 100 extra for the stuff he gave me!!!!!

He called me 20 minutes after posting the add, when I replied that I would take it.You should of seen my post also! If he sold you the snake the next day at 4am that was plenty of time to let me know he had sold it! Not wait until 8:30 that night. It's called courtesy. It also explains why he posted the cages at 6am also. Again a call or text to me then would have been appreciated. I stand by what I said. He is not a honorable person in my eyes!

i see both sides. i think from a truly BUSINESS standpoint, what he did is normal and acceptable.
however, if you are in something as a hobby, common courtesy should be a must.

example, if i work at petsmart and someone comes in a says i want that ball python, and they say "ok" then you have to go out and get money or whatever, and they sell it to the next person, thats business, and that should be viewed as fine and dandy. however, if i have a snake to sell (as a hobbiest, which is what i am with reptiles), and i post it and someone says, i will take it, i always, always give them 48-72 hours buffer, just as a common courtesy and a just incase, to allow for financial situations to be in place, proper communications to happen and take place and final deals being agreed upon.

now, unless i missed something, if the add says, must sell now or sell to the best offer, or something along those lines, that is one thing. i didnt notice any of that being said here.

however, i dont believe this should have been tagged a bad guy thread, especially so quickly

ps, these are my personal thoughts, opinions and ways i conduct myself. i am not a business/money oriented guy, especially in ways with something i consider a pure hobby

I agree with the courtesy thing but I had a good experience with him. The snake is healthy and eating it's very tame and I have no problem with him. The platty is all he has left so this thread makes no sence anyway. All he has left is two cages and I might go get one from him at a later date.

Thousands of people own boas and pythons in the 5 boroughs I have even seen cops touching peoples snakes and taking pics with them it's just a law to shut the ignorant people up who don't know anything about our hobby. Trust me when I tell you they have bigger things to worry about in the 5 boroughs than who owns a boa or python like the kids carrying guns and drugs and the guys that's sexually assaulting women.

If you want to continue to own snakes , youll think differently when it becomes a national ban.

Dogs attack people more than reptiles do if they ban reptiles they will have to ban all kinds of other animals. If reptile enthusiasts stand up to the ignorant people that don't understand the hobby it can't and won't be banned but a lot of people sit quiet and figure if it doesn't affect me where I live then why should say something. That ban is one of the many reasons I left NY behind if my salary wasn't better in Ny than Pa then I would not even step foot back in NY

Gentlemen,
This has the makings of an interesting discussion - however, it is disruptive and offtopic in this thread. Feel free to continue it in an appropriate discussion area.
