    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Besides that, I feel that we share a lot of the same opinions and I didn't "completely ignore" any facts about the history of other nations; perhaps you need to re-read my response. Plus we all have power, even if its to start a discussion like this on a site that was created as a craigslist for reptiles. Never underestimate your power and over-invest your involvement.

No one is asking for a guilt complex, that wouldn't produce results anyway; we do need to make right the wrongs of our ancestors, as much as it is in our power to do so. Also your point on foreign aid was already addressed in my initial response to you so please re-read. And you don't think that our aid is misused and abused in other countries?

I believe we owe the people of Mexico a lot based on what we've taken from them. If someone with bigger guns moves in next door to you and redraws the boundary line to include half of your home as their property, then calls you an illegal alien and a trespasser for accessing that property (that used to be yours), I feel like they owe you something (even if it's your kids' kids' kids' kids that get the reparations).

The law of man can only count for so much. We all have to look within ourselves for the true right and wrong in life.
 
I agree that just because you have bigger guns does not make you right. But I believe that reparations, as well as consequences, have to be timely to have any real meaning.

I believe slavery, extermination of another culture and land theft are terribly wrong. I also believe wrongs should be made right whenever possible, but quickly not 100 years down the line when the true benefit has been lost. And absolutely foreign aid is often misused - Somalia is a great example of that.

I believe the root argument is the point where we disagree and I don't think we can reach an agreement there. I respect your opinion, I just fundamentally disagree with it. I hope we as a nation have learned from some of our past wrongs and will not be doomed to repeat them. But I don't feel that we carry an eternal responsibility for the actions of our ancestors, especially since most of us are so culturally mixed now.

Again, I'm not blind to your point, I just can't agree.

Look im not saying I like democrats.. Let me rephrase that... I dont like democrats.. but do some digging, i mean really spend some time listening and opening your eyes. Maybe turn off fox news for a few minutes, and read NOTHING that does not cite credible sources and you will realize republicans are as evil as democrats are dumb. They spend millions to deceive you and send chain mail comparing obama to hitler, saying he will be the end of the world, he has so much power, not even a citizen.. blah blah blah..

Oh and if obama had power, we wouldnt have passed a health care bill that makes insurance companies MORE money with the gov. footing the bill for peoples insurance bill, and also forces everyone to have insurance, with no public option... obama has zero power, big corporations do, obama wanted public option and health care companies bent him over like new meat in prison..

Again lets be clear, I am not a Dem, I am not a Republican, I am an American, and i stand for the Constitution, and the right to the persuit of happiness and a good life for all Americans, the right to defend yourself and bear arms. If those rights are met frankly i dont give a damn who is president..

If we vote dem, were in debt, if we vote republican say goodbye to middle class. but believe me barrack obama cant guarantee or uphold those rights and neither can john mccain. Guess what YOU CAN, get active, get educated, and if enough of us REALLY understand that repubs are trying to bend us over just as much as dems, maybe we can take things into our own hands and restructure.

Our current government is broken, we all want the same things but we are pitted against eachother by dems and repubs. Our country will be more and more messed up until we get off our butts and do something about it. take back control and find a way to keep corruption and greed out of politics. I guarantee it will come to that, I may not see it in my life time but it will come to that. I would rather have political positions be filled like jury duty, a random citizen with no criminal record selected, then some rich guy backed by corporations.. I'd rather take my chances with one of you.
