In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My Largest female ball python Asus, has an odd spot on her nose.

Ive never seen this before, and im not sure it has to do with rubbing,or not... but hopefully a few opinions will point me in the right direction on how to handle this. If i should just wait until the next shed, or Bring her in to a vet now to see what could be going on.

I think its possibly build up underneath the scales...( Pus?Abcess?) but its possible its just swelling from the irritation and im just jumping to conclusions. Has anyone seen this before? its fairly concentrated to that one area of her nose, and the rest of her looks FINE! good weight, Great appetite * never misses a meal EVER* Looked in her mouth, and things look good there too. Shes a great snake, just.... not sure what this mark is from, and i dont want it to be something more serious.

She was moved to a new tub, from a longer one. Because i got new racks. and her temps are what they have always been at * no real changes other than size of her enclosure, which, if this is a nose rub, would explain everything, and ill probably just move her back.

The area just in front of the raised scales certainly looks like a rub, but those raised scales definitely give me pause....I'd have to agree with Randall, IMHO it could be in the early stages of an infection.

Looks like it is already infected. Try some neosporin and let the vet check her out.

I've got a male het caramel with a similar bumpy nose. He has had it for over a year. I'll try to get a pic. I suspect nose rub, since he was continously trying to escape.

I just got a female in with that EXACT same swelling, exact same location, and I was going to take her to a vet to see what's going on with it, too.

If it dosnt look red, or Open, See what leaving her alone in an enclosure where she cant rub does. I put neosporin on just to be on the safe side. but i dont think it would have made a difference if i didnt either.

I think the bump is just irritation, it goes down, and then away. ive been told by a few people now that when she goes through her next shed, itll be gone 100%

If the snake is brand new, vet cant hurt, if youve had her, and shes eating well pooping great and otherwise overall healthy, a few days in a good environment should show you whether or not you need to rethink going. her swelling went down about two days later that i definitely noticed.

If youre unsure, i say vet.
