    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

off eating-when to get concerned?

I've never really had a problem with my leos eating so this is new to us. My bell female that we've had a little over a month has eaten well so far and shed 2 times already. But now she won't eat anything. I was able to get her to take 2 mealies from me holding them in front of her a few days ago, but nothing since. Usually she goes nuts for crickets, but not now. What are some things I should look for or how many grams lost before I take her to the vet? Is this a normal thing maybe with her still settling in? She's still quarentine so...
 
How old is the leo? This is not an uncommon thing with adults, females especially. If your gecko is a juvenile or small subadult I would be more concerned.

OK, it is possible she is developing egg follicles. If you look at her tummy, do you see what looks like two pinkish colored dots on either side?
 
I'll check, is this a frequent thing with females developing eggs? She's the youngest female we've purchased so I've not run into this as the others already had eggs formed.

All females develop egg follicles upon maturity. Many times the girls do not eat as much, or at all, during this time. If your female is reaching sexual maturity, this could be what is going on.
 
Hmm... I rarely feed my 3 year old male during the cooler months (oct - march). He eats a few worms maybe once a week or sometimes less (once a month). If I keep his mealworm bowl full it'll just turn into a bowl full of pupae and the beetles will roam around after which isn't good. Even when he's not eating he'll still shed and pass stools. During the warmer months he eats a dozen or two every couple to few days. It's not uncommon for reptiles to not eat regularly (though some people will get really neurotic if their geckos don't eat everyday). I wouldn't worry unless she's showing any outward signs of illness or losing a whole lot of tail fat.
