Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just cause someone is banned from here doesn't mean their reputation can't be absolutely trashed still...

There's a reason they were banned, but then again, if you do not know why, you can't totally jump to conclusions. What if he's fixing his mistakes right now? Usually doesn't happen, but who knows till you know the situation (I don't, so.... haha)

If you did tell him you'd do it when you got home, then I would have to agree that is a bit unfair within a 5hr time... I myself am usually out for AT LEAST 2hrs, but running errands can take a lot longer depending on what you're doing.
Personally, I still feel that if you didn't, you should've told him how long you'd be, approx and maybe given a cell number or something he could get ahold of you by to touch up just in case.
I don't agree with the 5hrs time after telling him you'd pay when you got home, but then again, that's sometimes how business goes :/
Think of this way: You truly didn't lose out on anything, so you shouldn't let it bother you. There'll be deals like this later on and who knows - maybe one even better that you were supposed to get instead!

Seems like people continually try to make the same assumptions about banning members. Members are banned from this site for pretty much one reason - repeatedly breaking the rules for posting. In Vinny's case, he has a fondness for trashing this site & the moderation team - in fact, most of his infractions were for antagonizing a moderator.

I am still fairly new here, but I have never seen anyone banned for their business practices, only for the content they post.

I was gonna say something but I do believe you are correct about that actually. I've seen several people who have blatantly screwed someone over still on the site, just with a horrible rep-thanks for the correction!

NO retail store is going to hold a product for you without some form of down payment on the product. They don't care if you're going to be coming in 5 hours....if someone else shows up before you and pays for it...you're screwed.

The OP seems to think that even without response to their email stating that they will pay in 5 hours, that they have a right to a product they did not yet own in any way, shape or form.
The seller DID NOT agree to hold the animal without payment....it makes no matter how long you had been talking to the seller before hand.
How do you even know the seller saw your email stating you would pay before the person who called and actually paid. Do you think someone who is at work is checking their email every few minutes?
The seller was working...in their retail store...and someone called the store to pay for the animal over the phone
Would any of you...working in a RETAIL pet store...really tell that person on the phone they could not buy the animal until you know if someone else wants it??

Great point , the way i see it even a normal individual seller would go for the person who at least pays up front or drops a deposit to hold an animal , way too many flakes in the game.

All in all...the seller did what needed to be done per this situation...he refunded the second person who paid, and he refunded immediately. Since there was no response stateing that he would wait for payment from OP, I don't see how anyone can see any wrong doing on the RETAIL STORE's part.
