    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Oh man, did I mess up =(

If the pinky i fed my king was a bit too large, really it was a furry. Will my snake give up on eating it??

I thought the size would be easily handled, but now that i'm watching he seems to have some trouble. I know that snakes can eat things double/triple the size of their head my dislocating their church, but will they give up if they have too much trouble, or kill themselves trying. Im kinda worried over here. Thank you.

Not to worry...a kingsnake should not eat something that will be that life threatening. I would just let him/her alone for awhile, and perhaps next time, purchase a smaller mouse...I would be willing to bet that there has been no harm done.

Keep us posted !

Yeah, no harm done. Just had to let him work on it, but I was worried that he would throw it up, or that I would do some unintentional harm. Happy its all good though. Pic posted below of the fat bastard. No cruelty meant everyone :crap:

I hear you on this one!

The other day I was on my way to an appointment, so I left a smorgasborg of pinkies, fuzzies, rat pinkies, and rat fuzzies for my stepdaughter to feed to my younger non-brumating snakes. Apparantly the variety wasn't exactly right, because when I got home, I found one of my '04 kings eating a very LARGE fuzzy. An hour later he was down to the hindquarters. I was certain the poor thing would either regurge, or worse, try but fail and die! I made sure he had heat, and left him to it.

Well six days later, he's still fat (not bulgey) and blue. Apparantly he tolerated it well.

Sometimes with the best of intentions we end up giving a wrong sized prey item.
