In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Oh No!

So my mom's fiance was vacuuming the floor, and my crested gecko's cage was there, and he lost his tail.... :bawling: :bawling:I was reading how they do not grow it back, but I have some hope in it.

I bought him some crickets, and dusted them with calcium powder, also got wax and meal worms. What else should I do?

PS my Nile is doing well ^^ He has his own side yard to play in, and he loves it.

Sorry your gecko dropped its tail.

Unfortunately, there is 0% chance it will grow back as they simply do not. :(

Just watch and make sure the nub heals well.

I don't know how long it will take to heal, mine havn't dropped their tails (even though one of my cats found my male whos cage she opened and batted at him and had him pinned down in a little cranny).

Just genetic I guess, cresteds just don't grow back tails. Its unfortunate but at least they don't have to grow ugly replacement tails.

Yeah that's true.. but still.. the poor baby is all shaken up still..
I saw some pictures of tailless Crested Geckos and they look funny.

Your lil guy should be fine, some are more "sensitive" than others when it comes to tail dropping.

They kinda do, but I've seen a few and it isn't too bad. Sometimes I think the frog butt is kinda cute.

Honestly, I'm surprised that when I found my male in my room he had his tail after having his cage opened and being chased by a cat...

Awww... cats will do that =/
My guy is really scattered =... you can still hold him, but he runs all over his cage, and makes a big mess with his water dish.

You could try leaving your little guy alone as much as possible for a couple of days and see if he calms down.

One of my geckos is a spazz when I hold her. I don't why she hasn't freaked and dropped her tail.

Well he's only like this because of what happened to him. Before hand, he was calm when I held him... He is also getting better...just loud noises or fast movement startles him..
