In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info on record / Debbie Prince

Send her the snake back. Let her take the risk. Let HER spend the money.

I agree with what most others said. No snake back (alive) should equal no money back.

Her offer is good.

Take it.

Do EVERYONE a favour (including yourself)

Sending it back would be getting it away from you and your collection. (no more fear of it possibly spreading IF it were IBD)

I have also received a snake like this in the past.. took him about 3 months, but eventually went back to normal. he had gotten over heated and dehydrated.

no long term damage was noticed.

Thank you for sharing your experience . I had no hope for her and we have been very sad about that . I would love to see her recover .

Toni,
Yes.
You COULD have sent it back to her, whether are not she wanted you to.
Then THAT would have been on Debbie, whether or not to take it for a medical evaluation.

As the SELLER, If I shipped an animal that I thought was healthy, and the BUYER, thought otherwise, the BUYER HAS the option to send it right back and recoup shipping costs back to the seller. Very simple. Yet, you chose to keep it, for, how many weeks? and now you want Debbie to pay YOUR vet costs? I disagee. You failed intially to send it back, and now you want Debbie to occur your vet bills. Debbie made you a fair offer to resolve this, IMO, and if I were you, I'd take her up on it.

Sorry Randal . I think your vision is a bit colored ....but everyone is entitled to an opinion .

If you were me Randal you would not ...

Hunny, I cried a LOT, not to mention freaked out thinking it was IBD. I talked it over with the breeder, and decided to keep him. I made sure to keep him in a separate room, and made sure to keep everything super clean etc etc.

I would feel horrible had I culled him on a hunch. I knew that the breeder was known for quality, and as a good guy. So realistically, HOW would have had IDB in his collection.

That is one thing to think about here. Would she have been able to have IBD in her collection with no one knowing/being suspicious.

HAD she sent you a snake with IBD, she would probably have some far more concerning issues going on!

Best of luck

Don't ya just love people who can't follow threads.

Randal -- in case you didn't catch it Toni wanted to send the snake back for a refund on day three -- Debbie wouldn't take it back. It's been at the vets for 6 weeks because of Debbie.

Joshua,
I think you meant *clouding* my judgements.

Toni could have sent the snake back, forthwith.

And she could be awaiting a refund for the snake she purchased, plus the shipping cost.

Tosha I think now he is saying I should have just sent it back anyway so it is still all my fault because I didnt....it really doesnt matter what he thinks .
Debbie refused the snake even to the last day before I came here .
Debbie repeatedly said she insisted on the vet and that is why she was waiting....then she said in her emails do the blood tests so dont try to get Randal to be rational...it really doenst matter ...and he seems to be getting worse ....

So your solution is that Toni should have already sent it back even though Debbie was avoiding her and refusing to acknowledge that anything was wrong. How does that make any sense?

I don't know why we're arguing about this. Debbie should send a refund. Toni should send the snake back. Problem solved. It's shouldn't even be an argument whether Toni should euthanize the snake. Once a refund is issued, let Debbie decide that since it becomes HER snake again.

Well you see Randal I was trying to work with debbie and do what she advised....do you want to try to change everything that has already transpired and everything debbie has repeatedly stated so that it can all be my fault no matter what ? Well you cant .
Good luck with yourself .
Peace out .
Toni

Nobody in their right mind ships a live animal to someone that won't accept it. Debbie said she wouldn't take the snake back - up until she made her final offer she did not want the snake back in her possession. :yesnod: Why would you want Toni to send a snake to someone that would have likely refused to accept it anyway -- on the hopes that it dies in transit so that it could be Toni's fault? In what world does that make sense?

Tosha dear, I caught it. Toni COULD have shipped that snake back on day ONE.
Doesn't matter WHEN Debbie wanted it back, that's my whole point, Toni could have shipped it back when she noticed a problem,(which, was the day she un-packed the box), but didn't, and this thread COULD have been about a refund of the animal AND the shipping costs, instead, it's turned into this fiasco.

Randal Berry

ALL,
Again, I'm not siding with either party. I think it could have been handled better IF Toni shipped the snake back as soon as she noticed a problem. DOESN'T mater if Debbie didn't want it back, she would have recieved the snake the next day or so, and the ball would have been in Debbie's court, and I'm pretty sure we would be talking about another subject.

How do you ship a snake back to someone that does not want it? Yes Debbie should have told her to immediately send it back and we wouldn't be here - but it would be irresponsible to ship a live animal to someone without their consent.

Since Toni still hasn't said it....
Will you be shipping the snake back to Debbie? She said she would take the snake back, in exchange for the refund.
I would like ANY documented case of a ball python surviving with IBD for "months" without symptoms. I was told by several people including one of the premeir vets who identified IBD that it does not happen. Once contracted, ball pythons begin showing symptoms and dying in a short time frame(1 month give or take a couple weeks). Boas do not, and can carry IBD.
I'd appreciate if there is other information.

Debbie: Do not send any refund without the animal in your posession.

Toni: Send it back and get your money back.

I can make a snake do what your pictures imply. It takes some chemicals that I don't have, but I could do it. I might be able to do it without any. Challenge me to replicate your shots?

Your carmel has been at the vet's for a month now? That's extraordinary. It's not dead yet? That's extraordinary, too. It ate? It pooped?

Something smells, and it isn't the regurge.

So what you are saying Toni is lying about the snake being sick just to get her money back? Or are you saying the pictures are fake? I suppose you are also implying the vet is lying about it's symptoms as well
