In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Once again - an albino refuses to eat for me!!!!!

Have you tried triggering the feeding response using vibration yet?
Obviously snakes don't get hunger pangs or have an appetite, so other things trigger them..... Taste is one.... but vibration also does it... If you tape some sort of vibration aid to a small rub and cover the rub so it's dark you may find the snake will suddenly eat.... This is just a variation of taking your Bp for a drive to get it to eat....

take a rat pup that has its ees still closed and put it in the bin with snake close bin and see what happens i have a female lesser that will not eat unless i do this i think overly shy or insecure it may work sometimes when you stand there holding rat it is intimidating to the snake and creates a situation that stresses snake out so it will not feed. i would suggest not giving gerbils they are hard to get and cost more and once they are on them sometimes near imposible to get them back on rats.

I'm willing to try anything at this point.
Cost went out the window. Any idea what a female albino cost in 2004?....2006? A LOT MORE than the chump change I sold the 2006 for and I completely lost all on the 2004 one.

Didn't see this. I have one of those mythical animals. What did you have in mind? Shoot me a PM.

Hell, at this point I trade my DG and strider for a female that EATS regularly.

The ONE morph that I really, really like and I can't seem to get them to do good for me.

Yep, I've got a 2004 model that is finally up to breeding weight this season. She is currently off feed again, but I hope it's because she's gonna lay. Knowing my luck...she's just messing with me again!

I paid $2500 for this little princess...and no darn eggs yet.......

Okay~ we all know I've had some recent trouble~ but I've previously had some success with problem feeders with the same trick I used on WC BPs back in 03. There are charts on my web site showing feeds and weights on some WCs I tracked in 03 here:
http://www.thereddragonsden.com/wcballs.htm

what I learned was basically they can go a REALLY LONG TIME without eating without it affecting them in any notable way (but one that feeds will just drop dead for no reason)

Anyway~ they can go a REALLY LONG TIME without eating without it affecting them in any notable way.

A trick that has worked for me:

Replace the substrate with something earthy. I like to use cypress mulch mixed with potting soil. A bit wetter than you think you want them too. Nice and moist, DARK substrate. Bury the hide in the very back of the tub in the moist substrate. So only an entrance is really available uncovered. Cover the front (or any exposed sides) of the tub so NO light gets in. Leave the snake alone in that for a few days. Then drop a live rat crawler.....not big enough to damage the snake but big enough to move around a good bit. Look for one of those really fat ones that are almost as big as a small rat but hasn't opened it eyes yet. Drop it as far from the water bowl as you can (the stupid rat will drown itself if it can). Cover the tub again so it's completely dark. Don't check for at least 12 hours. Try again next week if it doesn't work.

It's not always worked for me. But it has worked more often than not. And USUALLY they stay on feed even when I move them off the very moist substrate a couple weeks later (you can't leave them on that very moist substrate long or they will get belly rot)

I've experienced the opposite of that as well. I have an albino male and a pastel female that were good feeders until I moved them from 28qt tubs up to 41qt. Both went off feed and refused food for two months.
I finally moved them back to 28s and within a few days both were eating again.

Maybe I should try this with my Lesser. He's been in a 41 qt tub for a long time, but maybe he's uncomfortable in it...? I should probably check to see when I put him in the tub; maybe that's what started it....

i have had this happen to me , with 2 albinos !! the larger one being my best eater in the begining then tailing off to sporadic feeder !! sometimes with ball pythons the best thing is patience !!

Steve, most people would have gave up by now and been into something else. Your not so it looks to me like your in this for the long haul. he might go off feed, but that's not unheard of for BP's this time of year. Move him completely away from any females and see if he comes around. He might just have something else on his mind and as long as he smells those girls he won't be thinking food. He may be off feed but he was a good eater before and will be again very soon.

Besides, he's a boy. Who really cares if he ever gets above 1200g. I don't think I have any males that are 1200+. Once they hit 600-700g they typically just get leftovers that were refused by females. Most only eat once every 2 weeks or so and are still healthy and breeding machines.

Breed him to a codom female and hold back some of your own future breeders. My best feeders are almost all produced here. Except my original 06 het albino girl. I have to thank Mr. Carl Aiken for letting that little piggy come here to live. She gave me 4 perfect little albinos before her 2nd birthday. My keeper 08 female looks to be following in her mom's footsteps with this little butter.

I gave up. He goes to his new home Monday. How much you wanna bet he starts pounding food at the new place just the female before did.

I WILL have an albino that feeds one day.....Oh yes......I WILL.
