In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Only beautiful ...

It is a Sonoran !

Yes, this snake is absolutely stunning ! Someone in the states have this !

You know, I've seen white-sided Brooks Kingsnakes and Bull Snakes that look like this, too. I think white-sided snakes, like this one, are very nice looking.

White -sided Bull

I believe that snake is a White sided Bull snake. And a fine specimen I might add !!!!
Don Soderberg, from South Mountain Reptiles breeds some of those. As well as other breeders in the US.

I hope that helps. Stephen

While that snake probably has the genetics of the white-sided line, there looks to be something else at work there too. I have never seen a white-sided with that much high white coloration.

I'm shure, that this snake is not a bull !

I don't remember, were i find the picture, but i remember the titel "sonoran gopher ..."

It's a Sonoran gopher that a coworker of Colbys collected here in Arizona. Unfortunately it's going to be considered a native wild caught animals and it is unlawful in Arizona to buy/sell or trade native wildlife.
It's really a shame, I wish it would have been found in New Mexico or something! I'd too would like buy a couple for my pit collection.
I have been fortunate enough to see the snake in person and photograph it myself, it's much nicer in person!

There have been at least 2 WS Sonorans capptured in the last 5 years. Look into AZ laws a little better. I believe the owner of that snake can GIVE it to someone out of state (NO TRADE, but a bona fide GIFT). The new out-of-state owner, assuming they are in a state that lets them own it legally, can then breed that snake and sell the offspring. OR, I THINK, the current owner CAN breed it and GIVE the babeies to someone out-of-state.

AZ laws aren't that bad, really. They do a good job of preventing the commercialization of native wildlife without preventing people from OWNING such animals. They just can't SELL such animals. After all, this is supposed to be a HOBBY and not a BUSINESS for most of us, right?

I am very aware of Arizona laws. I said it is unlawful to buy/sell/trade native wildlife.
You are correct they can be given away to anyone in any state, and they can breed and sell them. But the person from Arizona cannot profit from it.

You are right Az laws aren't really that bad. Guys from Texas come over here collect some animals and can sell them legally.

If the snake was collected in Arizona, saying it is a Sonoran gopher is just an educated guess. Considerring that both the gopher and the white-sided bull are found in the area, this could be either one or an intergrade of the two.

Sorry. there is no other pituophis found in the state of Arizona other than the Sonoran Gopher and Great Basin gopher. Bullsnakes are several hundred miles to the east.
