In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Orlando Fire Expo

I went last year

The city was a mess last year because of the hurricanes.... I hope that this year is better. I am not a vendor, just a keeper and buyer at the moment, but I'll be there :) I'll be browsing all the cool snakes, and picking up a few that I reserved in advance. Maybe I will come across something really cool that I just have to buy! Can't wait!

The show was sold late last year and this is the first one under new management. I was a vendor at the first two and they were OK. Nothing exceptional but OK. I will be hitting this one as a customer only

Has anyone heard anything regarding if any of the vendors will be pulling out due to the hurricane? My husband and I would really like to go but we don't want to drive two hours if no one will be there, anyone know if the show is definately still on or not?

just got back from the expo

It was not HUGE, but there were some very nice snakes there.

The weather was not bad either (at least, not today.)

I met up with Kathy Love to get one of her zigzag okeetees. I also bought a crimson (possible het for stripe) from Pasco Paul's, which Homegrown Herps was kind enough to hold at their table for me (thanks again.) And last, but not least, I got a hypo hybrid kingsnake (various crosses involved) from AHP Exotics (the breeder was Henry Dean.) Gorgeous snakes, every one of them. :D And everyone that I stopped to ask questions to was so nice, it was a pleasure to meet and talk with them.

Thought it was just okay. Whichever genius set up the parking a mile away screwed some of his hardware vendors out of some business, I had zero desire to walk that far carrying heavy stuff. :hot:

Would have liked to see more pits and noncorn ratsnakes, and way less boas, pythons, and cornmorphs....

Pits

I think we'll see more pits at the Daytona show. I didn't make it to this FIRE show though I wanted to but it sounds like I would've been bummed due to lack of pits for sale. My pits are just now laying:)

Russ

Russ: Yeah, there were only about 3 05 Northerns, half dozen generically labeled "gopher" snakes which I think were all SDs, couple of het gopher babies at Home Grown Herps(who had some nice breeders on display with eggs being incubated,IIRC), a "breeder pair" of a Northern & a patternless, and a generically labeled "pinesnake" which was heavens knows what.

I was looking for some adults or yearlings to complete some pairs.....hoping for better luck at Daytona.

The 2005 Orlando F.I.R.E. SHOW was a HUGE success! We had several thousand attendees even though the County Commissioner put out a "Stay at Home" advisory to the County via every media outlet in Orlando/Orange County. Over Half a Million dollars was sold on the floor by Professional Vendors, which is great for the industry! Feedback from the public and vendors stated that this was "The most ORGANIZED, FRIENDLY and PROFESSIONAL Reptile Show they had ever attended, and the MOST impressive Expo Center ever! Check us out at the Orlando Reptile Show, November 12 & 13 at the Orange County Convention Center...parking will be closer:)

THIS IS NOW BEING TALKED ABOUT AS THE NEXT BIG FLORIDA SHOW TO SURPASS THE OTHERS...WE AIM TO PLEASE:)

Hey Lloyd,

Sorry for the walk...the genius was the Expo Center itself...hard to move a 2 million square foot facility around, but as to moving heavy tanks and such back out...there was a three lane drive up 60 feet outside the front doors with more then a dozen signs directing the public towards it, and we supplied volunteers/staff to carry such items out to the pickup point. We have already met with the OCCC's executives to try and secure a closer hall for our next show in November.

Thanks for coming!

Cheers,

Must have missed the signs for the pickup area, all I saw was the signs directing us to the parking on the way in.Where were they and what did they say?

As to moving the center around, not needed if you get a better hall because it did seem strange to have to walk by empty halls A-E to get to hall F.....

Hey Lloyd,

The Handicap and pickup/drop-off parking signs were all around the Center from every entry way road, and at the entrances to the front of the Center. I believe they read Drop-off/Pick-up and had arrows pointing towards the zone.

We couldn't get the other halls due to renovations, but that should be fixed for next time if they aren't already booked as November is Expo Time in Florida.

Hope to see you there!

Shawn
