    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ouch!!!!!

The wounds from geckos and most reptiles do have a tendency to bleed alot longer than other wounds like cats or dogs. I think maybe theyre teeth are sharper reuslting in a cleaner wound. Its like a knife. A dull knfie hurts tons more but bleeds less. Same with razer cuts, u cut urself with a razer it bleeds forever.

I get cut ALL the time in my line of work. I've been cut by razor blades, glass, paper, cardboard, frame corners (yep...BOTH wood and metal), screwdrivers....and probably a few other things I can't think of right now. You might say I'm an "expert" in getting cut. I can certainly tell when I'm bleeding an abnormal amount, and the bite from Gilean was quite abnormal...it was equivalent to stabbing myself quite deeply with a razor blade. It bleed with pressure for around 20 minutes. However, the actual cut was no deeper than your average papercut. I never really thought about it until tonight, but I would not be surprised at all if leo saliva is packing a little extra "something".

After all....they just found out not too long ago that monitors and beardies have some things going on in their saliva...

That does make sense. I was surpised at the amount of blood coming out of this bite. It's not all that deep, but it did gush.

I think all reptiles do. I mean, I got bit by a big garter snake(and by big, its was 32 inches and as big around as a quarter) and that bled for 15 minutes. Then again, almost all snakes have venom to a degree, and if they dont have venom, they have strong saliva. I'm pretty sure monitors might have it since they prey on larger animals and that would help them. Since all reptiles do come from a common ancestor I dont see why leos wouldnt to. Even though they might not need to have that in their saliva, it doesnt hurt them not to, so I dont think that during the process of evolution it would have ever dropped out. Evolution brings in good traits and out with the bad.
