In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Outback Reptiles

How is outback a bad guy for disclosing that it wasn't eating yet, and then helping you try to get it to feed? They have no responsibility towards starting a snake on food out of their possession unless in written guarantee. Its been 15 days. I dont own snakes, but as a Certified Vet Tech who has worked in exotic practice for years I know that they can be picky and take a while to eat. On top of that you have no clue weather or not there is something medically wrong with it. They may have said it could take a week or two to eat but i highly doubt they have some crystal ball that tells them exactly when its going to start on food. If you have experience with hatchlings, you should know these things, and if you have never had a hatchling, then it is your own fault for assuming the risk. Dont blame the seller because you have a healthy young snake that is doing what healthy young snakes sometimes do.

has to assume the risk once he makes the purchase. All the information was given upfront, and no one twisted this guys arm into buying the snake.. The purchase was made in person, and the option of not buying was at the discretion of the buyer.. No one can guarantee whether a snake will eat in 2 weeks or 2 days..

Outback owes this person nothing. At these shows the terms should be buy at your own risk. Vendors come and go, and I do not see why they have to be straddled to a customer after the sale is consummated... If there is the slightest doubt in the quality of the animal...............donot buy.

But dont comeback with a bad guy post when you knew the risks before the purchase...

:iagree: :iagree: :iagree:

To the OP /shaneh1004,

LOL you have got to be joking !!!!!

you bought a newly hatched pinstripe and you were told on the spot by the vendor "its not eating yet" , and then you constantly stress it out by trying to feed it every 5 days after taking it home , and then you were told (i doubt he said guarantee ) that the snake SHOULD START EATING in 2weeks .
now your posting a bad guy thread cause surprise-surprise , it hasnt started eating yet .. ( that about the jist of it? )

you knew what you bought ,when you bought it its not the vendors fault, they didnt hide anything from you to get you to buy it ( BY YOUR OWN ADMISSION )..
you just chose to buy it the way it was cause the price was cheaper instead of paying more money for one that was already well started .

im sorry YOU made a bad choice in buying the animal , but this bad guy thread is a joke . the vendor did nothing wrong ..

I am good friends with Shane, we co-own a small reptile breeding operation. I was unable to make the show due to family issues that take precedence over the reptile hobby. I have seen the snake. It is a healthy looking snake on the outside. But on the inside who knows. I think outback should give him a feeding animal or refund the $275

You were involved in the other Ian G thread. Kinda seems strange you would make it into this one as well. You claimed then that you would probably never do business with Ian. But your "partner" Does. This is not a bad guy thread. This is someone with limited experience dealing with Baby balls jumping the gun.

Can we see pics? I'm not jumping at anything yet, just skeptical.

ya i was wondering that myself , Skeptical of what ??????
the OP pulled a brain-fart boner choice , and is now regreting it and trying to make the vendor responsible for the bad choice they made. theres no skeptic to it ,the OP already admitted by their own words the vendor didnt do anything wrong.

and trying to claim the snake is sick is a cowards way out . its not sick its RECENTLY HATCHED .. and the op doesnt have the know-how on the ways to deal with it properly .

Well, this whole thread just seems to start off on the wrong foot when I see this sort of evidence concerning the two main protagonists:

Post IP Addresses
shaneh1004 71.114.28.15
snakemaster24 71.114.28.15

Yes, I know coincidences are always possible, but this sort of "coincidence" seems to take place on the BOI a whole lot more than pure chance would dictate.

I knew it would end up with those results on an Ip check. But they are "business partners"

BUSTED!!!! Geez David, What a crappy thing to do. Hasn't being booted off of this site and cornsnakes.com taught you anything? Go back to cornsnakes.com ( where I frequent as well) at least there they are more tolerant of your behaviors and know what to expect. Better yet just go to your own little site where you get to play God with your little buddies. You have become more than enough of a headache for Rich and the moderators on both sites.
You also need to contact Outback Reptiles immediately and apologize for this thread, completely pre-preemptive!!!
ps) Don't even bother with the " my 'friend' borrowed my computer" line either, even if it's true, you still look like a hand held usable object.

I have purchased snakes from Outback Reptiles and so has my fiance and they've always been extremely honest and helpful about the animals, even giving tips on how best to help my Spilotes thrive. All the animals we have from them are healthy, good size and eating well, but I know baby BPs are notorious for being hard to start eating. I have had snakes go 3 months without eating (not hatchlings- I haven't bred anything yet) and I know people who've had snakes go a year. Two weeks is hardly enough to get upset over- the snake might not even be settled into its new home yet. BPs are shy and timid creatures; the OP should give it time to settle in and next time get a written guarantee from the seller. IMHO, Outback does not owe him a refund; he knew it wasn't eating when he bought it.

There seems to be a pattern with Snakemaster24 and threads related to Ian G. Not sure what his problem is

The seller should not be offering a non feeding animal for purchase PERIOD!

Nonsense. I've never let such deter me and often gotten better deals because I was willing to put the work in and establish the animal myself. Following your logic, would it also be appropriate for a seller to accept an animal back if it went off feed?

Hahaha Oh snap!

The option not to buy

rests squarely on the buyers shoulders... Information is knowledge. It was provided and not heeded and now the buyer is crying foul .. Outback reptiles owes you nothing. Conversely, you owe Outback an apology for bringing this to the BOI......dummy !

Well Said Chuck i couldnt have put it better .

i see the OP is in the posts watching this and still has yet to respond from his original, BS!!!! post

Wrong!
First off, The snake at the time of purchase was not a 'non-feeder'.
The snake had "not yet been offered food", as it was clearly stated in the first post, this is probably because it hadn't shed yet or had just shed and was 'going to show'. These are reptiles commonly sold as OOE's (out of eggs). This practice, while debatable ( use the appropriate forum) allows breeders to sell young snakes at a more affordable price to experienced buyers that know how to get them feeding without starting a duplicitous BOI thread.
That being said, it's perfectly fine IMHO to sell non-feeders as long as they are clearly marked as such ( and they were in this case!). Some people are not only willing to take that 'educated' risk in order to buy a better morph at a substantially lower price, but because same also are experienced and have talents/tricks for getting non-feeders to feed.
