In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Outback Reptiles

The seller should not be offering a non feeding animal for purchase PERIOD!

Not so Timothy, many people snap up fresh hatched BP's and many other hatchling snakes at a reduced price and look forward to it every year.

Almost all these buyers have experience starting hatchlings.

What we are not gathering from this is more detailed information. If you purchased this snake at the very end of August, and here we are only in to the second week of September...... Why are you stressing out? I would like to see a picture of your set up for this baby ball. Also, get a picture of a temp gun reading on your heat source.

Everytime somebody has a problem with their new snake, they always claim to have "the perfect set up", so the snake must be sick. I would like to see your set up. Normally bringing a snake to a new environment will casue the snake to go off feed.

The first couple weeks of a baby ball pythons life should start in a 6qt tub on damp paper towel till they shed. After that, most people allow their baby ball python about one week in their new setup on news paper(undisturbed). This alone would bring you to this date in time since your purchase.

Shane, your friend David seems to (in his mind) have more knowledge than a reptile vet, so save yourself from the $65 physical/new pet fee from the vets and have him work on your snake. My only fear would be just that. I saw David's little youtube videos of him stumbling through his messy room to show people his collection of WC snakes he must have caught in his yard. Black Ratsnakes and Garter snakes being kept on filthy News paper is just what I would like near my new ball python morph!

You are better off getting back in touch with the guys at Outback. My personal experience with them has left great impressions. I have bought 90% of my collection from them and have no complaints. I just saw them this weekend at the Whiteplains show in NY and they had some insane looking new ball python morphs! Call their warehouse and ask for Ryan, he is pretty accomidating.

Those you tube videos were a while back. I have a rack system now. I use different bedding. Yes I have WC animals there is nothing wrong with that. Outback has many many WC and imported animals. I my videos are no reason for you to start getting on a personal level. Those snakes were not caught in my yard but rescues from other peoples yard. I do snake rescues in my area. Now Shane has told me to talk on his behalf I told him I cannot do that. I may sign into his account and delete this thread and let him tell the story

Cont'. let him tell it Again with better information. I think this thread has gotton abit out of hand. It does look like he may be in the wrong. I use a great herp vet. Eastern Exotics and I will give him hier number. Thanks and have a great day.

Sorry its early! LOL But when i say sign into his account I mean sign in and delete this thread he is out of town and I have been giving him updates. Sorry for the the confusion

Explain to me how you "rescue" them from people's yards. Are they trapped there? Being abused? Are they ill? Have any of them been to a vet? To rescue an animal means it was in a bad way, and you stepped in to save its life. If you're just being called in for wildlife removal and then keeping the animal for your own amusement that's not rescue work, I'd say it was more along the lines of "kidnapping."

you cant delete posts made on the BOI . its here to stay ....

He's out of town huh?
Yet i see his name signed in watching over this thread ...
and i have seen your name signed on at same time as his .???????
i think your full of :censored: ..!!!!!!!!

I think this thread has gotten out of hand a well. It seems to be pretty cut and dry to me.

You clearly in your own admission bought a baby snake that was not feeding, and you were told this by the seller prior to purchase. You acknowledged that you had previous experience with ball pythons, therefore you should have known of their feeding habits and the risk you were taking by making the purchase. It had not been 2 weeks at the time of this post, so I see that their was no reason to post a bad guy thread. And even if it had been 1 month past the point of purchase I still would not see the reason for a bad guy post.

You got exactly what you purchased, and I dont feel that there was any misrepresentation whatsoever on the seller.

Chalk this one up to an impulse buy and a bad descision

Those snakes were not caught in my yard but rescues from other peoples yard.

Rescue? LOL. Its a native snake just going about its normal business - wondered onto someones property - that simply needed relocating. Why don't you just call it what it is - an opportunity to seize some snakes for your collection. There isn't anything wrong with that - so long as its done legally - so why lie about it and make up a story about rescuing snakes when clearly that isn't the case?

Ya know what needs rescuing? You and your friend. Someone please toss those two a life ring.

OK folks, enough with the derogatory flak. It doesn't help anything here.

Yet again someone blames the seller for their incompetence... Give the snake a week before trying to do anything with it...let it shed... wait a couple days then give it a small hopper... I have personally not done buisness with Outback reptiles, but i have friends that have purchased many animals from them and not one has gone south.

Kid, you are not a rescue.... If you would like to address yourself as one, I would like to see your paper work and registration. If you cannot post this proof, Id strongly suggest dropping your last few posts to save your @$$ on impersonating a rescue organization.

I feel bad for your "friend" Shane. I hope he reads this thread when he gets back from "out of town" and will give his snake time to acclimate. He needs to actually call the guys at Outback so they can walk him through taking care of his snake.

I think he was just using the term rescue a bit loosely, and not exactly pawning himself off as a legitimate rescue organization. Did he rescue those animals? Perhaps he did. He may have been asked to remove a snake or two before a shovel or rake was taken to it - a lawn mower blade accident - that sort of tragic thing - and I think that its ok if he acted to rescue in those types of situations. Then turning them into pets if he felt they were unique specimens - there's really nothing wrong with that as long as he is doing so legally.

However, if he is putting them up for sale or keeping them in less than ideal conditions that could result in a demise worse than getting whacked by a shovel or run over by a lawn mower....then it would not be ok and he'd be very well deserving of what we seem to be grilling him for.

A bit more on topic, I've dealt with Outback Reptiles (i.e. the former J&J Reptiles), and Josh has been nothing but helpful an forthcoming. He goes above and beyond to ensure you're getting what is advertised. I purchased a breeding female from him that had recently laid a clutch, and come shipping time he disclosed that she hadn't gained much weight since laying, and offered to feed her back to weight if I so desired, so that he could, "...send me a beautiful fat snake right off the bat." He also offered to ship if I wished to feed her up myself. Just relaying my personal good experiences with Outback.

Cheers,
-Matt

Call this one a lesson learned op, you might have experience with balls but it is verry aparrent that you DO NOT have enough experience to start or work with a new hatchling BP, Please give or sell this animal (before your responsible for its demise) and get yourself a nice started colubrid..

I have several balls from Ian and there all smoking and I have never had any issues with them......and hell im a BP nooblet....
