I'm in panic right now, last week our a/c unit went out while we were at work. Temperatures have been reaching 98-100 degrees everyday. We come home to find our snake room to be around 100 degrees and our cages even hotter. We immediately moved the snakes out of the room and got them surrounded by fans and slowly cooled off.
All of our snakes recovered well, except our Lavender Albino Retic whos about a year old and 8ft long. She is still extremely weak basically limp at some points and at some times it's like she can't even move her bottom half. She also seems like her equlibrium might be thrown off. Sometimes it's like she kind of leans to the left. We've taken her to the vet who basically told us he was unsure of what was wrong with her but just to continue soaking her in water daily. :-/ She seems to be gaining a little strength day by day, but she's still very limp and weak and almost jerky when she does move.
She ate a very large rat a few days this happened and at this time there is no way she could eat again even if force fed. She's just too weak. I've been mixing a bit of pedialite in with her water some just to try and get her hydrated again. It will be a week on thursday since this has happened. Does anyone know of anything I can do to make her better? If damage has been done to her nervous system can I do anything
about it? Will she just slowly die or is there hope she can get better? I'm devastated over this and desperate to try and find info to help get her better. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
