    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm not sure if there is an existing thread on this but, recently I haven't been able to see who left me karma points and my coins went missing. I thought perhaps my paid membership had expired but for some odd reason tonight my coins reappeared and I was able to see who had left me karma.

Is there a glitch in the software? Am I still a paid member or has it expired?

I didn't do anything in my user cp to make any changes so I'm not sure what happened.

I don't want to be taking advantage of a service that I may not be rightfully entitled to.

When a member gets banned, I have to manually disable any additional member groups they belong to because I believe those member groups may allow them access to the site bypassing the ban. At least I think that is what happens, never really tested it myself. Seems to me a read somewhere that the additional member groups can possibly supersede the permissions set of the "registered" member group, but that has been a while ago. I'm sure the member groups likely have some sort of precedence order involved since they can be set individually for every forum, but darn if I know what it is.

Now in the case of temporary bans, IF I remember to reset the member groups (including paid ones) after the ban has expired, then that member will regain those options. But if I don't remember..... :shrug01:

Of course, with permanent bans, this is not an issue...........

Thank you for the reply Rich. And also sorry about putting you through the extra work. I had no idea you had to manually turn things on and off when I was temporarily banned (which was often). Shouldnt be a problem now though.

Chuck, it would please me no end if I never had to ban another person for the rest of my life. Doubtful that will happen, but if I could get wishes granted to me, that would be one of them. Not so much the actual banning, but what it would mean about people in general that would have to change in order for that wish to be granted.
