Pastel or fire?

So I got my first ball python a couple of months ago and he was sold as a pastel but I've been looking through morph pictures and I'm starting to think he may actually be a fire. So here I am with my little guy asking for some help from the experts.

You can tell by his sides. Pastels have a distinct "brown out" line down their sides where the yellow coloration is darker on top and lighter below.

Well it seems his morph was correct but I popped the little booger today and he is actually a she! Pleasant surprise!

They can hide the goods pretty good sometimes, might try probing before you get too excited.

I'll second that! Sometimes hemipenes have some trouble coming out if not done juuuuuust right. Probing is always a good way to go!
