In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

patternless boas

Hey congratulations on the ones that made it and sorry about the ones that didn't. The patternless boas look sweet! Were you selectively breeding for that? Also is there a reason why she had so many slugs?

When using photobucket, just use the IMG codes for the individual photos. If they're HUGE, people will gripe. If they're
HUGE
you might get told to resize them (pretty easy to do in Paint).

(system wouldn't let me make the "HUGE" any bigger)

i was trying for it, and i struck gold.

Hey, Jonathan, Be careful with those babies. That's a whole lot of yolk to deal with. Did you use the same male that Brendan used to get those? It'd be interesting if the male you used was unrelated.

Chris

no it wasn't the same male brendan used, the one he used was killed when being bred to another female. I am being very careful, watching them like a hawk.

what was the pairing? was there BCc in the mix?

Congrats on the babies! I agree, make sure to keep them really warm so they can absorb the excess yolk as quickly as possible. I wouldn't move them from the birth site until the external yolks have dropped off or absorbed in. (imo)

I don't mean to be bothersome, but is the sire to this litter also unrelated to the sire of the other litter?

Chris

not a bother at all, i asked brendan about that myself and he said he didn't think that he was, but that's not concrete evidence so i don't know a 100% if he was or wasn't. I did move them to a second cage with damp paper towels and belly heat. they all seem to be absorbing the yolk still and doing good so far. but only time will tell.

That's interesting. I'm wondering if it might be a dominant or incomplete dominant gene rearing it's head, and not a recessive. A little food for thought. Good luck with the babies.

Chris

Whats the story on these? Can you give us a little more info on this "patternless" boa? By the way, they are sweet looking. Hope that yolk gets absorbed fine.

what was the pairing? was there BCc in the mix?

Ahh I found your post on KS to answer this question - "it was my double dose hypo harlequin to the original patternless dam from brendan magee"

So yes, BCc blood in the mix (the original patternless dam is thought to be peruvian or a peru mix).

I really think all these patternless we see are due to the BCc (patternless harlis, roswells, possibly sterlings (sterling parents were rescues, history unknown).

Looking forward to seeing the post shed pics!

yeah she looks like a peruvian or a mix. the BCc def has something to do with it and if you look at the sterling dam she's extremely similar to mine. Just as the patternless offspring look almost the exact same.

I'm going to coin them quicksilver boas

why a new name and not patternless harlis? Just curious..

it's actually kinda neat how you ended up with 4 live patternless, that's how many were in her first litter too if I remember correctly
