Bad Guy Review:
I was looking to choose a manufacturer for building a large set of cages for me.
I narrowed it down to two companies that work with a particular material for cage building and sent them both the same request for prototype cages.
Paul F Edwards from ProTek Caging Systems was one of those manufacturers but unfortunately every step of the way there was problems. There are always bumps on custom builds, and shipping large cages but it's how you handle those things that makes the difference. The service and quality produced by Paul was subpar at best.
There are to many issues to list so i'll just give two main examples:
Tub Shipping:
He didn't ship all the tubs, for one of the racks and 6 were missing.
I let him know Jan 28th.
He didn't order them until Feb 22nd and I didn't receive them in the mail until Mar 14th.
- Lack of attention to detail like tub count and other things was a cause for many of my complaints.
Freight Damage Claim:
The units were poorly packed on a pallet and shifted in transit which resulted in one of them getting damaged.
I took multiple pictures and asked him to file a damage claim.
He has yet to give me any information on if he actually filed it, and if/when I can expect to get my refund.
on 2/3 he said he had to file a claim.
on 2/22 he said he would file it tomorrow.
on 4/7 he said he hadn't filed it yet.
I have yet to hear back from him and if he hasn't filed it yet, i'm guessing that the shipping company won't honor it any longer and that he should owe me the amount of shipping damages at this point due to his lack of effort filing the claim.
I won't ever do business with Paul F Edwards again, and wish that he hadn't talked me into giving him a chance, saying that he was as good as his competitor just cheaper. Like they always say, you get what you pay for. Unfortunately cheaper in this case was still not inexpensive.
