    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Paul Johnson - balloholic

Crypt Keeper, a bad guy post is very serious and can ruin someone's reputation. At the time she posted a vague story and was asked to provide emails as proof. Instead of posting them she replied to the thread 6 days later saying she was contacted and this was hopefully resolved. However, she still labeled him a bad guy from the start. On the 14th she still did not post emails about the deal. This only means she may have jumped the gun and could have used an info thread intead. That's why some people including myself posted that it was too early to label him a bad guy. Now with more details and a timeline to work from, it may be deserved. We still need the other side of the story here. No one is starting crap or defending anyone so far in this thread that I can see.
 
Do you not fully read each post? The OP stated that the person she had given her snake too hadnt returned numerous messages for over a month. A Month. It took a BOI thread for that person to come out of hiding. Now it has happened again. IMO thats a bad guy not once but twice. The OP sent her snake as payment for trade and now has nothing in return. IMO if you dont return phone calls or e-mails for a month knowing yourself that its getting close to your eggs hatching that is a poor business move regardless of any thread or BOI posts. Im in talks with Steve Gooch right now about one of his animals. I have been in contact with him regularly on other things over the past 3 months. I will deal with Steve for as long as I am in this hobby. He gave me his phone number when his comp was down to just bs and talk.

You assumed a lot not knowing anything and basically told the OP she jumped the gun. That is not needed. You instead should had asked for more details. Now that those details have come out over a 3 month period its clear this guy has either scammed her or well I dont know what else you would call it.
 
We asked for details on March 2... I hope everything works out and she gets what she is supposed to get from the arrangement.
 
Thanks for the support everyone. Its pretty clear I am not getting anything from Paul. Hopefully he doesn't pop back up in a month or year or so and try to scam anyone else

I'm sorry this had to happen to you. Breeding loans or deals that depend on future results, usually go South it's best to do those only with people you can access easily (live close to).

However, your warning did not fall on deaf ears; I am quite sure that Paul Johnson (Balloholic) has been added to quite a few members' "Do Not Buy From Or Sell To" lists.:NoNo:
 
A bad guy post does not "ruin someone's reputation". How the situation is resolved in everything. Most great sellers, no matter how stellar their reputations may be, are going to have someone that they don't initially please because you can't please everyone.

I don't blame the OP for wondering where the guy is, I would be sweating bullets myself, considering the guy has the OP's snake already. A month is a long time for no communication.
 
Ok, ruin may have been a poor choice of word to use and you are right in how it's handled. However, when people search and see a bad guy on a very small breeder, do they open the thread and read it or move on to another seller? It does seem that this is not going to turn out positive since he has not even showed up to post his side. What is his addres and phone number? Maybe there is a member in his area who can help or someone can contact him by phone since the op can't.
