In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Paul's Reptile Circus/Paul Larosa - Sickening Husbandry & Neglected Reptiles

Is there any update on this?

No, no updates. In Massachusetts there is no permitting process to host reptile shows so he does not have to meet any standards in that regard. Additionally, he has no restrictions on owning pets so he is allowed to have species legal to the state.

Lauren- What about Board of Health Permits? Down here, we have Animal Venue Permits. All per stores, rescues, vets, etc, must be inspected and permitted.
Just like they got AL Capone for Income Tax Evasion, this provides a secondary tool to go after abusers (at least in our county).

Spoke to the Director of Animal Health for the Department of Agriculture in Massachusetts and there are no inspections for those dealing in reptiles (there are for almost every other species) as far as the Board of Health or otherwise. It is very frustrating to put it mildly.

Any one on here know what to do when someone sends ya money for snakes and you get the snakes and they won't meet ya to get the snakes and they want there money back?? Any advise would be helpful thanks

Please utilize the General Business Discussion forums for these types of questions (so long as the other party is not named). If you want to name the other person, post a separate BOI thread about the matter. THIS thread is for the topic of "Paul's Reptile Circus/Paul Larosa"

It appears that the monitor that is behind the bars with huge chunks of mulch is not his setup. It's on his profile, but I don't think it is his from what I am gathering.

Or maybe he is just saying that because we are not allowed to have them in Massachusetts. The only monitor we can legal posses are ackies

I know this thread is old, but in the original post he said he was insured, and based on the way he operates this is hard to beleive, maybe it's a law there but he was lying? If he won't pay to take care of them it's not too big of a stretch that he in fact isn't insured? Maybe if someone reported him the authorities in his area would actually do a basic check of things like that and maybe if he isn't current on that it'd be enough of a violation to seize the animals. Didn't have time to read entire thread so I apologize if I've missed something that makes this idea irrelevent, you seem like the best person to ask about this particular subject.

Other monitor species, including nile monitors, can be owned in Massachusetts with a permit but he does not have one.

yes but the animal has to be CB and the permit process here is horrendous and takes for ever to go through.

He does not have to have insurance to operate a reptile show program in Massachusetts. Many schools, events, etc. will require he have it to operate on their grounds but as stated earlier there are zero guidelines/requirements/licenses needing to run a strictly reptile (other animals do bring more scrutiny) program in this state.

Now, if he is claiming he has insurance when he does not then maybe someone he hosted a show for could file some type of claim but would have to research that.
